So you are off on Monday(I am too but I got laid off Wed so its different)? I'd try to catch it with a lively crowd. I think it actually enhances this type movie as opposed to being a distraction.

I saw it today, I thought it was pretty good, gave it a B+. I think it's better than most of the originals anyway. Even with combined 1-3 the plot was still pretty flimsy thought.

Do you think all that weed was Jason's? Because he seemed to be killing anyone who went near it, or might know where it was?

There was jumps, gasps and giggles at the showing I went to, which I did think enhanced the fun... and me and my friend whispering to each other "She'd dead" "He's dead" or "They're dead" when ever someone had sex, touched drugs, or did anything "bad".

I agree, it's the best way to see this sort of movie.

Well said... this is basically what we did too regarding the 'she's dead' bit.

We thought that the weed was Jason's too. Did anyone else notice the electricity in Jason's house? Dude's gotta pay the electric bill somehow.

For anyone who's seen the whole thing...

Did no one else have issues with the sister's death-blow line? "Say hello to your mother... in HELL!" *pathetic stab* That was kind of a clunker/deal-breaker for me. I mean, really? Then they dump him back in the lake. Dumb kids. I did not expect him to come back up so quickly either. He moves REALLY fast to get that mask back on and pop back up... and why was the lake deeper at the shore than out where that girl got ran over by the boat anyway?

I know that line was horrible, I turned to my friend and said "Cliche much?" when she said it, but it was just delivered badly too.

It was kinda pathetic how he was supposed to be dead after that stab too, I expected them to at least feed him in to the woodchipper.

That's what I expected too. One of the reasons why I rated this a 'C' is because we had called most of what was happening before it happened, except this scene, and in this one case where we were surprised it was a disappointment.

We also thought the sister was going to get the ole sweater and impersonate Mrs. Voorhees a bit longer to distract/weaken Jason, then they would feed him into the woodchipper and he'd be no more.

I'm going to pass on it. It dont seem like nothing new. A bunch of kids go camping, Jason kills a bunch of them. Seen it.

According to early estimates it made on its opening day yesterday $19m and many expect that final to move over $20m when the dust settles.

Depending on its Saturday drop with Valentines day many see it comfortably in the upper $30m to lower $40m range. If the Sat drop isn't horrible than a 4-day Presidents Day Weekend of $50m is quite possible. Maybe even a new Presidents Day Weekend record.

I saw it this afternoon. I liked it. I liked the Rob Zombie Halloween better, but that doesn't detract from this film. I'm just glad it didn't suck.

As I watching it I was wondering why Clay and the other girl went back to Jason's house toward the end? Did Clay leave his bike over there? If so, why did they go into the house?

Also, why did the tunnel lead into a bus? Did I miss something there?

Sometimes it was hard for me to follow some of the action due to the herky jerky camera angle. Another quibble I had was the second group of teens-I never quite got why they were friends? The first group, with Whitney, seemed to genuinely get along better. The second group seemed like a collection of mini-groups thrown together for storyline reasons. I also didn't get why Trent's girlfriend seemed totally unfazed by him cheating on her. Granted, she was afraid of Jason, but it seemed like she would've reacted in some way. Then again, it didn't make sense that she would hop on a bike with Clay when she didn't know him at all. Then again, it's a horror movie so most teen decisions don't make sense. I did think the cast was okay overall.

I'm giving it a B.

F. Very little redeeming about this film, which was certainly the worst I've seen in several months. On the bright side, I've been promised a free ticket to Watchmen from a friend in exchange to seeing this garbage.

Jason's rise at the end was a moronic, unsuccessful attempt to replicate the end of the original. Which, looking back on, isn't that great a movie, either. But at least it was actually scary. I can't remember a moment in this movie that made me jump, or elicited much of any reaction from me.

Richard Burgi and Nana Visitor were wasted in this. What's his name from Supernatural was just there. The Asian kid who played "Chewie" (ha) had a fun scene in the garage, but it's about the only entertaining bit I can remember from the movie.

I can only figure that he knew he left his bag there, with the bike keys in it, possibly the bike itself. He had no way of knowing his sister was there that I can figure.

I think Jason or maybe Mom did this to hide the tunnel itself.

I agree with all of this. The jerky guy whose house it was and the girl that went off with Clay did not seem like they would actually date.

Well those few who didn't like it are entitled to have that opinion but about the net its getting good response. True garbage is Dungeon Siege, but I digress.
The $42.2m 3-day opening is nothing to joke about and its likely Friday the 13th will set a new Presidents Weekend record and become the first horror movie to cross $100m in some time.
