Re: Bit roles before they were "famous"
John Cusack played Wil Wheaton's brother in Stand By Me. I'm sure Jennifer Aniston would like to be remembered for the Ferris Bueller TV series or Leprechaun. Forest Whitaker in Bloodsport. |

Re: Bit roles before they were "famous"
Patrick Swayze - 1981 - A couple prior roles Teri Garr - 1973 - Many prior roles, I'm not sure how big Joan Van Ark - 1973 - Pretty much the same as Teri Garr John Ritter - 1973 - A few prior roles George Wendt - 1982 - Several prior roles Lots of others, listed here, more or less famous than those above. Those are the most notable to me anyway. I don't think he counts, but Leslie Nielson was in an episode in 1973, but he had been in TV & movies since 1950. This is the earliest thing I've seen him in. Ron Howard too, but obviously he had a few notable roles by 1973, but not Happy Days, yet. |

Nikki Cox had a brief speaking roll in Terminator 2 The fat male lawyer from the Practice played a door man in the very first episode of the Conan Obrien Show, it was his first roll on tv. Dule Hill from Psych and The West Wing played Bud on the Cosby show.

The only one that springs to mind is Samuel L. Jackson in Coming to America. He plays a guy trying to rob McDougal's and Eddy Murphy takes him out with a mop stick. |

Daniel Craig was a snotty teenage drug dealer in Drop The Dead Donkey many moons ago... David Boreanaz got punched out by Ed O'Neill as Kelly's boyfriend in Married With Children Tony Head was a Nazi in Secret Army in about 1979...

Re: Bit roles before they were "famous"
Liam Neeson was also in Excalibur, which if I recall correctly managed to snarf up most of the later to be famous Irish actors. I've forgotten which Randolph Scott western it was, but I was amazed to see Anthony Quinn as a miscellaneous Apache brave. Some that struck me were Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) in the Vigilante epsiode of Threshold, Maggie Grace in an episode of Miracles (forgot the title,) and the ubiquitous Zachary Quinto as a Confederate soldier in yet another episode of Miracles!

Re: Bit roles before they were "famous"
Another would be Adam Sandler on The Cosby Show. I also wouldn't consider Masters of the Universe "bit parts" for either of the 2 actors listed, considering they were giant roles in the movie and the movie was about them.
