Pine On His Work And His Future
As reported by STLtoday.com, having a sense of humor helps when facing the responsibility of doing one's best for a highly-anticipated movie. When asked if he had ever met William Shatner, Pine said, "We wrestle on Saturdays, Greco-Roman. And that's pretty much the extent of our relationship. It's usually a draw." But humor aside, Pine treated his work on Star Trek XI seriously. "I felt the pressure of being involved in a big-studio film," he said. "When people are paying $150 million to make a movie and your track record is films that are way smaller by comparison, I felt a need to step it up. I wanted to make sure I did my job and did my part and did it as best I could because a lot was on the line." It helps when there is a good director at the helm. "The atmosphere that J.J. [Abrams] created on set was so easy and so friendly and so conducive to collaboration and creation that it was fine," said Pine. Pine hopes that the future includes new opportunities and that Star Trek XI opens doors for him. "I'm really looking forward, knock on wood, I don't want to jinx myself, to more opportunity when it comes to work and what I get approached with, script-wise." Re: Pine On His Work And His Future
Are you kidding me? Pine completely spoiled it. That is the Shatner cameo. Old Kirk and young Kirk wrestle Greco-Roman style at the end. It all makes sense now!
