Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

My take on the Aventine crew:

CPT Ezri Dax: Nicole de Boer (natch)
CDR Samaritan "Sam" Bowers: Michael Boatman ("Spin City," "Arli$$," agree with KRAD)
LCDR Gruhn Helkara: Paul Campbell ("Knight Rider," "Battlestar Galactica")
LT Simon Tarses: Spencer Garrett (also natch)
LT Oliana Mirren: Diane Kruger (National Treasure, Wicker Park)
LT Lonnoc Kedair: Laurie Holden ("The Shield," The Mist)
LT Mikaela Leishman: EDIT: I'll go with Christopher for Milena Govich, or maybe Robin Tunney from "The Mentalist?"

So does anyone have any ideas for the Aventine, and Columbia crews yet? Hmmm, should I put Tarses under my DS9 or Destiny cast lists?
Well, we know that Tarses is Spencer Garrett (cf. TNG: "The Drumhead"). Bowers has been variously suggested to be Michael Boatman, Ving Rhames, and somebody else who slips my mind. I believe Dave has said he favors Lena Headey for Lonnoc Kedair.

I imagine Law & Order's Milena Govich as Mikaela Leishman.
Cool, I already have Roger Cross from 24 (Curtis Manning) as Bowers, and I'll go ahead and add Lena Headey and Milena Govich. I decided to just make a big Destiny cast list with everybody on it, so I'll have Tarses in both it and DS9's.

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

When I wrote Bowers in Demons of Air and Darkness, I was thinking Boatman, but in A Singular Destiny, I found myself gravitating more toward Cross, in part in response to how Dave wrote Sam in Destiny.

OOO, Tony Todd and Chris Judge...

Good call!! I wonder which one is more agile for all the backflips...
That's what stunt doubles are for.
Not in fantasy casting - they're totally unnecessary there!

However, there is to be no CGI backflipping!!!

Re: Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Is there any way to post word documents on here? Because I finally finished all of my cast lists for Titan, Greater Than the Sum, Vanguard, Terok Nor, DS9R, and SCE, and I'd love to share my current versions with everydbody, especially the authors. I'm almost done with Destiny, I just need Columbia, and a couple Aventine crew members.

Where's the command? I was looking the other day, and I just looked again now, and I don't see anything about attatching files.

I think that's only true for staff and premium members, but I could be wrong.

I'm dragging up these old quotes since I wasn't here in 2006...

For what it's worth, when I've written Taran'atar, it's been with Christopher Judge's voice.

Still, there's the cover art featurin' Prynn on the fourth Mission: Gamma novel, though she doesn't really look Asian. Or maybe it was just me...

And, stupid question - would a black actor / actress be able to be "blue-ed" properly to play an Andorian?
Thats kindof true.... she may have black in her heritage at some point, or maybe she just did something with her hair. But since Asian includes India etc., she looks Asian too me... plus, I think we need to think that she is half a younger Vaughn... lol!

Odo'ital: I don't see why a black actor/actress couldn't play an Andorian. We've seen actors of all races play Cardassians successfully, and they're also quite pale. (Though was it a trick of the light, or did they give Broca's skin a warmer grey hue than we usually saw?)

Based on her description in "Resistance" (straw blonde hair, mid-20's but looking rather for her age, freckles), Sara Jean Underwood as Sara Nave

^^I don't know who that is, but she looks a little like Kristin Bell, who was my choice for Nave.
