I enjoyed this episode quite a bit more than the first two. I got a few genuine guffaws from some of the jokes. The evil vampires are kind of ridiculous and over the top, but I think that's kind of the point of these characters. They're sort of the white trash equivalent of vampire culture. It makes sense to me that some vampires would be idiots, too.

Sookie's brother, despite being a complete idiot, is somehow the most interesting character on this show. I get the feeling he'll wind up dead or turned into a self-loathing vampire by the end of this season.

I like the fact that Sookie and Bill are both outsiders within their particular sub-cultures. It's kind of hokey but it works for me.

I find it highly coincidental that his last two lovers both had vamp bites, and both ended up dead
