Fotze, I don't have any idea what you are up to, both in this forum and in another I moderate. But let's keep it to English, please.

Re: The Official Welcome Thread
__________________________________________________ __________________________ Hi y'all. TroubledTribble here. I'm "very old" to Trek, but new to TrekBBS. I've read this board off and on for eight or so years, Finally decided to start posting. I've watched all of the incarnations starting with reruns of TOS in the early '70's. I liked TOS, TNG, Voy, couldn't get into DS9, probably because I like the ships so much. Loved Enterprise, especially after Manny Coto took over. Could not believe they ended it just when someone was finally going to start filling in the blanks. I'm and "old salt" with lots of Navy experience and I'm an adventurer at heart. Look forward to the new movie and can't wait to see where it takes us. This looks to be a great new adventure!!!!! Last edited by TroubledTribble; August 24 2008 at 12:28 AM. |

![]() I started watching when my Uncle started showing me episodes when I was about 3. That was back in '94, havent stopped since I have watched every series, loved TNG and DS9, Voyager was ok and ws rather disapointed with Enterprise. Of course, TOS was great! Favourite characters - Quark and O'Brien. Can't wait for the new movie, I am intigued already! |

Re: The Official Welcome Thread
I joined here so I can have more people to talk with about Star Trek things...being 16, it's kinda hard to find other people. Star Trek isn't exactly a teen thing XD I've been watching since about 4; I grew up watching Voyager and started watching the others when it ended. I'm sad I could never have met Gene Roddenberry, he died before I was born. ![]() I'm hoping to make a bunch of friends here, this place looks pretty awesome

The Wikipedia link provides a further, more general, background on the subject.

Re: The Official Welcome Thread
If Kirk says "I was born in Iowa", that is now canon (part of the history of the show) from there on in. They can't turn round and say he was born in calcutta. That would violate "canon". Problem is, the show has been going for 42 years, and it makes it very difficult to come up with anything new, especially if it contridicts some obsure line of dialogue written years before. Were it up to me, I'd throw everything out and start again. But that's just my opinion ![]() Books are not canon though. Nor are Comics. Written material (with a few exceptions) is not canon.

Re: The Official Welcome Thread
Or he simply forgot? Or he was possessed by an alien entity at the time? Or he had been ripped in half and that was his evil side that said it? Or aliens experimented on him as a child and only made him believe that he was born in Iowa? Or that it was the Mirror Universe Kirk who said that? It's not so simple, is it?

Re: The Official Welcome Thread
I've often thought you'd could explain anything away if you think about it. Especially lines of dialogue. In real life, people say stuff wrong all the time. Picard in First Contact "Shit, sorry - did I say 24 decks? I meant 26. Sorry, fucking Borg and that, stressing me out..."
