Well, The Dark Knight has reached $870 million worldwide in its sixth weekend at theaters. Will it be able to reach $1 billion worldwide before it leaves?

Isn't Uwe Boll's "Far Cry" coming out soon? That alone should derail anymore money Batman would make.

There is the Dark Knight Movie Masters line which is a step up from the Kid's line, but then again nowhere near the quality of the more expensive stuff from Hot Toys (which are quite frankly some of if not the best Batman collectibles ever made.) But good luck finding them at all. They've been absent from the pegs ever since they landed (a combination of recalls and the hype over Ledger's death)

Unfortunately, Mattel holds almost exclusive rights to all DC properties in the US. (Hot Toys is an Asian company, which is why they can make their Dark Knight figures, but at $150-$200 a pop, they not very affordable) Matell has never really been a collector friendly company (though the DC Universe line is quite good.) The Dark Knight line from them is almost exclusively aimed a kids. The Movie Masters are your best shot for decent Dark Knight figures, but they're not even near the quality of the DC Universe of Marvel Legends lines (if you're familiar with either of those)

Yes, the Movie Masters line have been very difficult to find for a reasonable price. However if you look you can find some online retailers selling them for around $20 or so.

Yup, that's the upcoming Bank Robber Joker from Hot Toys. It looks amazing but the price tag is rather prohibitive. I'm still trying to get my hands on the first version they made (with the iconic outfit) , but prices are skyrocketing. I'm sure I'll end up getting both versions in the end simply because of the amazing headsculpt on the Bank Robber version.

Quick question...

Michael Caine was quoted as saying that Heath Ledger's Joker is so good, that when he started a scene, Caine forgot his lines.

In what scene did Alfred meet the Joker? Or did Caine forget that he had no lines in that particular scene? Or have I blacked something out?

A comic book movie has a long, uphill battle being nominated for the Academy Awards. And, regardless, I don't think The Dark Knight should be nominated, perhaps outside of Ledger's performance. It was good, but it was not great. And I fully expect the sea of 'Oscar bait' movies to have more than a few more worthy entries.

Not that the Oscars have ever been about what is worthy. It's politics, and the politics of business. So this might work.
