I'd be interested in seeing Braniac, Metallo (at least the general concept, robot with kryptonite heart), or Bizarro as villains. Maybe Darkseid if the director takes the concept seriously and doesn't make him an lame-ass threat a la FF2's boring Galactus. He'd have to be played by a charismatic actor.

I don't think that Darksied would be a good idea. Virtually any way they adapt him to live-action would piss off a huge number of fans. The bike-helmet, boom-tubes, crazy alien monsters, there's just too much there waiting to get totally reinvented.

Besides, even though Supes is an alien, the Superman story should always focus on Earth so I don't think going all scifi and alien planet is a great idea.

He's muscular, broad chest, but not like he's on steroids. As for Routh's performance I blame Singer. I blame the screenwriters. They kept Routh's lines to a minimum.

Because people don't think Smallville is any good to begin with so some bad actress with a smoking hot bod who is nothing like Lois Lane still has a smoking hot bod?

I'm one of the few who liked Bosworth's performance. She looks too young to be carrying that much history and to be a mother of a child that old (unless Lois was a teen mother, which the script obviously isn't trying to convey), and so she was miscast from that point of view (as was Routh really), but I thought she acquitted herself well.

I wasn't impressed with her performance, but then I don't think anybody could have carried off Too Stupid To Live Lois. Not sure to what extent Bosworth's naive performance created the perception of a brainless Lois or, conversely, how much Lois' character being written as an utter ditz influence Bosworth's performance, but neither helped the other, that's for sure.

I'd like to see Braniac. One not so far removed from his appearance in Superman: TAS. Maybe they could fit in Terrence Stamp as Zod at the beginning bitching to Braniac that Jor-Elgonna bust him so if that happened Braniac should avenge him in some way. Perhaps they could use the unseen footage from Superman Returns with Clark searching the remains of Krypton and introduce Braniac locking onto his DNA and following him back home to Earth.

No idea what the hell they'll do with the Son though. I was hoping Singer had something up his sleeve when he decided to make Superman a Daddy.

The problem is that while Nolan chose to ignore the last Batman movies, Singer just made a sequel that ignored a few installments. Imagine if Nolan had just made a sequel to Batman Returns. Warners needs to start fresh and make a new series that is NOTHING like Donner's interpretation. Just because the 78 movie had a good origin doesn't mean any future films have to follow it. Why not include the origin in a new way? Like through flashbacks and ignore that first movies structure. We don't need 60 minutes of Smallville again. And also, no more Lex land grab schemes. We need bad guys that equal Supes.

Since this causality is a bit beyond your grasp, just tell us what seemed "ditzy" about Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. You could call her secretive and conflicted. That we can see. But "brainless"? I don't think so.
