Cally could be HEAD! Cally. I'm betting Ellen is a flashback.
That would really be going a bit overboard with the head characters, but since Tyrol is a Cylon now, I guess it's possible as a projection thing a la Tigh and Ellen.

A kind soul at the Battlestar blog livejournal has posted an intriguing video about some of the cast and crew of BSG celebrating after filming their final scenes for the series: http://community.livejournal.com/bat...g/1208951.html
(there is a Sendspace link on that page, getting to download it may take some patience).

Someone has also put up a few screencaptures from the video:
-non-spoilery http://pics.livejournal.com/wisteria_/gallery/0007shr4
-spoilery http://pics.livejournal.com/wisteria_/gallery/0007t22d

There is a little footage of what are apparently scenes from the finale (a few times we see scenes being wrapped, the very last filming).
Some things seem to stand out:
-Gaeta, Zarek, Dualla and Tory are not seen in the footage, nor are their actors filmed on set or otherwise shown (it's of course possible they had wrapped their scenes earlier)
-A few unexpected faces: Cally is back, in her "specialist" uniform even. She is shown quite a bit in the video, actually. Could be a flashback I suppose (if she is the final Cylon, I guess she just wouldn't go back to the hangar deck?). So is Ellen, and she seems to have a scene in what appears to be a stripclub - with Tigh and Adama in it! Probably also a flashback. Lastly, we have the actress who plays Kat on the set - though no actual scenes are shown.
-The scene where Grace Park (very probably as Athena) and Tahmoh Penikett wrap is a bloody affair: Athena has a bloody hand, likely caused by Helo lying on the ground in blood. This scene plays on Galactica, and Helo has clearly been shot in what appears to be quite a major gunbattle (lots of heavily armed people in the video), so the finale seems to include fighting on Galactica itself. It looks like Helo is either gravely wounded or dead.
-Both Head Six and Head Baltar seem to make an appearance
-A Doral is shown, with a bloody face, aiming a gun aboard Galactica. Dean Stockwell (Cavil) is also shown a couple of times in the video, not sure if those are new scenes
-There may have been a time jump, as there seems to be an older actress for Hera and Bamber's hairstyle seems to have changed dramatically
-it also shows the scene with Roslin going in the water near the fountain (pictures of this had leaked before). Roslin is also shown in a Raptor.
Very interesting. Thanks for posting. It seems the only dead character who hasn't returned this season is Billy.

There were actually plans to have Billy return in "The hub" - instead of Elosha - but the actor wasn't available. At the recent con, that actor also said that he would not return in S4.5. A pity, as it would have brought some closure for this forgotten character.

^I think the scene worked better with Elosha anyway. I can't really imagine Billy giving that kind of advice.

It would have been nice to have seen Billy as one of the people on the shore in Roslin's lake vision, though. Oh, well. Not everything works out.

As much as I liked Billy and the actor who played the character, the scenes did work well with Elosha especially since she always represented the spiritural for Laura.

Campbell wanted to leave and try other projects. I can respect that, but that doesn't mean I miss the character. Billy had no screen presence. Is it really such a loss if he isn't seen again? Elosha worked better in the scenes IMO.

Re: Spoiler whore's thread! (enter at your own risk)

I have to admit that when I saw it was Elosha I "squeed." I always liked her character, and, personally, I found her death more "shocking" than Billy's. Also, Billy died a skeptic. Elosha (or Not Elosha) said Laura helped her regain her faith, and she was Laura's spiritual advisor too, so I think it made more sense for her to be the spokesperson in Laura's vision. If the Virtual(s) are also manifestations of "God" then it would make sense for a priest/priestess to be it's manifestation.

Also, in addition to the Virtuals all being people that the percipients "loved" in some way, if you notice, they all seem to have something else in common.

Going with "love" let's first review:

Baltar loved Six. His virtual has been (with one exception) Six.

Six loved Baltar. Her virtual has been Baltar.

So Baltar seeing himself shows that at that point, he loves himself.

In the deleted scene from Maelstrom Starbuck confessed to Dream Leoben that she loves him. Her virtual later is Not Leoben.

Laura saw Elosha, and Elosha was her beloved friend.

Notice anything else:

Six is the first to tell Baltar she believes in God in the mini. She talks about her faith to him. She is God's prophet.

Baltar, is now God's prophet himself. He began as a skeptic, but Virtual Six has been leading him along the path, beginning in Season 1, culminating in him being a religious icon himself. So, when he sees himself, he's seeing God's prophet.

Leoben is the Cylon who is spiritually "in tune." Starbuck saw "God's prophet."

Elosha was a priestess. Laura saw "God's prophet."

Now, if these are all the same entity...that could mean that it is God itself or, as it says, an "angel sent from God." I'm inclined to believe the former, not the latter.

Also, did you notice that in Crossroads, as the trial is beginning, that's when the 4 start hearing the music in snippets. I wonder why. I don't think it was just the proximity to the Ionian Nebula. Rather I think it had something to do with the trial. The trial really set off Tigh so much that he started hearing the music. Tory blew up at the press eventually. Anders was already under stress over Starbuck's loss. Tyrol and Cally were having problems and the trial was being broadcast all over the fleet. Also, it's as the trial looms that Roslin and Athena (and presumably Six) start seeing the vision/projection of themselves and Hera. There's something about that trial that seems to me to trigger the Four to start recalling their identity. I think it was some sort of defining moment in their collective past, maybe the event after which they chose to bury their actual identities.

Since Earth is a disaster, maybe what happened afterward is something like this:

The Final Five sat in judgment on "God" because "God" caused a war, a religious war on Earth that resulted in this situation.

Their verdict, however, was to acquit God. I wonder if the 4 ior some of them voted to acquit while the 5th didn't. That might explain a lot. If Dualla is the Fifth Cylon, it may also explain her anger at Lee for defending Baltar - she knew the verdict, because she had seen it happen before, or maybe the Fifth, like Adama was persuaded to acquit "God" and, over time, has come to regret it.

And thus it makes me wonder if "God" isn't also leading the Colonials along the primrose path for some reason. If it caused the war and is trying to gain a following, maybe it's goal is to do what it did before.

Elosha worked better for this particular, spiritual, scene, but Billy would have worked much better as a character Roslin was close to, compared to Tory. As some have said, Billy really should have been in the ferry scene, when Roslin was imagining about her death. He was close to her in a way no one else on the show was, except Adama. Him as a Cylon could have been interesting as well, allthough Tory as a Cylon is also interesting as it is, and Billy would almost certainly have taken a different path as Cylon. Tory was a bit of a blank slate so they could do more surprising things with her.

I hear what you're saying; I suppose the real problem for me is the actor. Paul Campbell just doesn't make me sit up and take notice like the other actors in the cast have.

Hee, I only just noticed that `baltar' is an anagram for `labrat'!

Not particularly interesting in and of itself, but it would be funny for Final Cylon purposes.

I'm really starting to like the Boomer theory. If the Four can be hiding among humans, who's to say the 5th isn't hiding among the Cylons?

There was an interview recently where Grace said RDM had to sit down and explain the story to her. I wonder if that's because Boomer is particularly important?

Re: Spoiler whore's thread! (enter at your own risk)

It seems that the Series finale will be filled with flashbacks...

8/11/08: Xeno Fenner (David Patrick Green), Captain Doyle Franks (Susan Hogan) and Judge #2 (William Samples) are listed as appearing. From IMDB [So flashbacks to the labor dispute and Baltar's trial are shaping up in what looks to be a flashback-filled finale.]
8/7/08: Take it with a grain of salt, but Zak Adama (Tobias Mehler) is listed as appearing the final three episodes of the series. From IMDB [If this is real casting news, we assume that he would be a vision Zak or flashback Zak as opposed to the Final Cylon Zak.]
8/11/08: Crewman Specialist Prosna (Michael Eklund) is listed as appearing. From IMDB [Considering Prosna was killed off in the miniseries, the finale is shaping up to be a flashback episode.]

I was right on board with all those spoilers, until I read the words "From IMDB." I'll take that news with a huge grain of salt until I see verification from somewhere else.
