Clearly I'm in the minority but I loved the fourth one and think it's the best one of the series. Best action, best comedy, Jet Li as the villain. I'd love to see a fifth one.
Too me it caved in too much to the "craze" of the time with martial arts.

So we get a bunch of middle-aged men trying to fight a ninja.

Yeah but at least there was a hint of realism with it taking both of them to take Jet Li's character down rather than Mel just kicking his arse on his own.

The racism in 4 was a bit hard to stomach, especially given the anti-racist slant of 2.

Glover has categorised and consistently said that he's not interested. Gibson has pretty much said the same.
While Glover has repeatedly said he's not interested, Gibson has been far less clear on the subject. Of course, even with one half back, there's no way it would work. Lethal Weapon needs both characters (and, I'd argue, Russo and Pesci).

Actually what Gibson said was 'Shurup shurup where'sh my drink, g'day Bruce'

I've have to watch them all again, but I remember liking all 4 of them, so I wouldn't be opposed, at least in theory.

Ah but they never manage to beat Li at the end of the movie. As I recall he kicks the both of their asses, but then the dock collapses and they're drowning and a rebar goes through Li or something.

Just glad Mel's going back to acting finally.

He was driving me nuts with all his director/producer crap.

He's a great actor; he convinced us all he was sane for how long?
