I don't even think this qualifies as spoof anymore. It's random actors who need to eat dressed up as other actors repeating one-liners and performing basic slapstick taught to them in high school drama class. Walk Hard was a pretty funny movie, though I did think they relied a bit too much on the "cox" jokes, even if the character and title name did basically beg for it.

And the weirdest thing is they didn't even use the Cox breakfast sausages commercials in the movie.

I watched both Hot Shots! yesterday. Lloyd Bridges does the "confused" guy in charge a lot better than Leslie Nielsen, who seems to get those roles now.

And what does that have to do with anything? A good portion of Trek is pretty high dramatic stuff (mostly TOS, TNG and DS9) and we've got a very diverse group of people who like a wide range of dramatic pieces.

Your implication suggests that our liking Star Trek and criticising DM being "funny" is that Trek is somehow "less" than a stupid "parody" movie that is a bunch of random scenes stitched together.

That suggestion is pretty damn bold of you.

And it still doesn't make any sense. Take a look around and you'll see plenty of people around here like and enjoy much wider ranges of entertainment beyond Trek and rightfully criticising Disaster Movie for the crap it is.
