Wow, some of you are pretty harsh judges. Not everyone is the most beautiful person in the world, but the girl has some serious sex appeal! I thought she was hot in TDK, and well, everything else she has ever been in.

Re: Maggie Gyllenhaal: Genre babe of the week #30 (July 2008)

Of course she's attractive. What she lacks is stunning beauty. In the bygone days of black & white film and heavy makeup, screen testing was much more important. It's how they sifted through the many beautiful women to find the one that stood out projected on screen. The consensus I'm reading is that Maggie doesn't test well.

Go ahead and post that nerd pic every time you disagree. It's in our nature to be critical this way. It's our own standard we're exhibiting.

Sideways from me.

I went thumbs down. She isn't ugly but she doesn't do it for me.

Wow, I knew the voting was going to be bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad.

Is she getting worse numbers than Kirsten Dunst did, Aragorn?

Thumbs way up. I think she's beautiful. Much prettier than a lot of the other ones who are flaunted over.

If the woman isn't 65% fake then there's nothing to drool over.

She can be pretty sexy at times (like in Secretary), but much of the time she has a kind of hunched, downcast look to her that I find a bit offputting. Also, I think she's a bit overrated in terms of acting talent. Thumbs sideways.
All the haters need to watch Secretary.

Down, down, DOWN. She is homely looking. A local morning radio program was discussing TDK and one of the DJ's stated that he'd heard someone on TV refer to Maggie as looking like a turtle due to the bags under her eyes. Very fitting.

She almost looks like a post-operative transsexual.
Rick and Brad? Yeah, I heard that. I don't agree. I want to give her a spanking.

There shouldn't be a thumbsdown option. It is frankly an insult to humanit that a bunch of Trek nerds be allowed to rate beautiful actresses as "thumbs down" to make themselves feel good.

Had to go down with Maggie. I've never really seen the appeal and she doesn't really spring to mind when the term "babe" pops up. However, I did find her very appealing in Stranger Than Fiction.
