Re: Cate Blanchett: Genre babe of the week #22 (May 2008)

After just getting back from Indy IV, my opinion may now be swinging to Thumbs Down.

Just don't see anything "hot" or "gorgeous" about her. She's above-average attractiveness, I guess. She's no Heffer or dog, but... just doesn't do anything for me.

She is an excellent actress, but I don't get excited over her.

BTW, She was by far the best Bob Dylan in I'm Not There. She had his mannerisms and his voice down pat.

Like I said, terrific actress, not really what I would call a babe. Thumbs sideways.

A great actress, for sure. But no babe.

A big "meh" from me.

Just... Yeah. Not the hottest woman ever but I wouldn't kick her out of bed.

Well, I might, if it was zombie Cate:

Which is a well-known Photoshop fake. Come on, Treker.

Is it? Never heard/saw that. Link I found that picture from seemed legit and had another picutre -from the same event- where she was similarily spooky looking.

She's still not "all that" to me.

That's not a bad song, seriously.

She's got something attractive about her. And the whole British thing is a plus, but she's so odd looking I can't in good conscience give her a thumbs up. I'll give her a sideways though, 'cause, truthfully, I'd hit that Elven ass with my +5 Vorpal sword.

Actually, she's an Aussie.

Very attractive, but I've never thought of her as a "babe".

Thumbs down.

I can take or leave her as an actress. She's not a bad actress, I've just never been overly impressed. Based on looks though....pale, blond, stick thin so, ew.

I'd say she averages out to a sideways. When she's hot, though, she's really hot.

Looking forward, I hope we'll see Amanda Peet and Jennifer Connelly in upcoming Genre Babe threads this year.

^ I could be wrong, but for some reason I remember Jennifer Connelly already being a GBOW already.

No, tragically, Jennifer Connelly has NOT been featured yet.
