Come on, how would they stretch that out to seven years?

Ok, so I have a question. Where is there any information about it being a time travel movie? I haven't heard that anywhere except here.

The whole time-travel thing is done by Spock turning out to be "Future Guy" fighting time-traveling Romulans in some kind of "temporal Cold War."
That would be a better ending to the TCW than that crap about the Nazi alien.

Well you have a young spock and a old Spock in scenes together? No? I think that was reported, but I could be wrong.

Hubris, maybe? It's worth a shot.

I never heard of *THAT*! It is always said that he will play Spock. He said so himself, I think. If memory serves well, this was said on TrekMovie.com ...

EDIT: Here it is ...

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that any of the old crew would be cameo, which is to say not there original characters

TrekMovie.com: So you have a meaty role in this film?

Leonard Nimoy: I would not refer to it as a cameo, it has been referred to as a cameo in various press and I wouldn’t describe it like that. Cameo is a brief appearance in one scene. This is a functional role in the film.

TrekMovie.com: So you have multiple scenes in the film?

Leonard Nimoy: Yes
Leonard Nimoy: The Spock character that I am playing, the original Spock character, is essential and important to the script.

Frankly, having Nimoy playing a Vulcan other than Spock would be a dumb idea.

There was a rumour at one point he was going to be Sarek.

But that was months ago. Before Zach Quinto was confirmed, even... and Sarek's been cast in the interim.

I was just asking a question, I hadn't seen the article where they publisized the fact that nimoy is going to be spock. Hence why I was asking in the first place.

Now that I know this, I can better reply to the time travel idea.

All I can say is I sincerely hope not. Unless the have an extreamly good writer, time travel is hard enough for them in the episodes, let alone the big screen.

I dont know it worked pretty good in Voyage Home and First Contact-

I could buy into the slingshot method, esp. since its been done before to good effect, and it has cool visuals perfect for the big screen.
