UPDATE... Just about done with the textures for the head and neck. They both came together much easier this time around. I still have to do the weapons and I’m thinking about redoing the bridge. They came out fine the first time I did them so I don’t feel the need to redo them but I might anyway.
I doubt it. As I recall, the Klingon's time with the Hur'q was around the year A.D. 900. This little ship looks old, but maybe not that old. (If you don't know, the Hur'q were aliens that invaded the Klingon's homeworld 1,500 years before the episode "The Sword of Kahless" [DS9]. There has been much speculation that the Klingons got all their higher science, in whole or in part, from their alien captors, who, in typical Klingon style, they eventually conquered, themselves. But these guys were only ever mentioned in the one episode as far as I recall, so I wouldn't be surprised if you missed them.) --Alex
The Hur'q were featured in the game Star Trek: Invasion. From what footage I've seen, I don't think that their ships resembles Klingon vessels in any fashion. Did the Klingons obtain any technology from them after they booted the Hur'q off of Qonos? Maybe. Did they perhaps not know how to reverse-engineer the technology? More likely, but that depends on if the Klingons had any concept of powered technology at the time. Either way, by the time of the D-2, I think that the Klingons would've gone their own way in design.
UPDATE... I’ve got some grid lines thrown on and what I was thinking for an airlock. Still not sure about it
Like the new ribs. This is just me, but the one airlock on the rim of the NX-01 Akiraprise's saucer allowed ship-to-ship docking. While this Daedalus-type ship has a lower docking port in a very similar place as the TMPrise, it would make more sense if there were a port further aft; maybe nearer the hangar deck area. Another possibility would be where you have that rectangular indentations near the secondary hull's underside.
UPDATE... I added some windows. Worked on the neck a bit and relocated the airlock. I also added a little bit more to the front of the secondary hull.
Well the title says it all. I knew something was wrong for some time. And now I know what. I’ve been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. That’s why I haven’t been around for some time spent the last ten days in the hospital getting my gut rejiggered. I’m doing ok now and I am home, just some minor discomfort and soreness from surgery. In about a month I’ll be doing 6 months of preventative chemo and that might take me out of the game for a little while more but I will be back.
