It's not that I doubt you or anything, it does seem to match what's already been revealed. But where did you find this picture?

Awful design. Doesn't look like they bothered trying to update it at all which seems like misdirection to me. If most of that armor doesn't come off in 5 minutes to reveal an actual re-design I will be very surprised, and very disappointed.

I like it. I thought the Silurians were terrible but this has had the nice subtle bump change and still retained the original design lineage. Well done.

Moffat does seem far too enamored of the original series' aesthetic, that's for sure. Coming on the heels of the new console room, it's a one-two punch of visual suck.

Keeps the original aesthetic, improves the limbs, works for me...

Why do people, especially New Series fans, keep saying that the new "Power Ranger Power Chamber" console room is anywhere close to the design of any of the versions of the console room used during the 1963-1989 run? It doesn't have proper roundel walls, doesn't have inner doors, and is dark and dingy. The only thing the new console room has in common design-wise with any of the versions from the original show is that they both have a hexagonal console in a room.

    You mean like the Silurians?

That said, why does almost every recent alien costume/prop look like it's a super cheap childish design that a cosplayer can do better on. I mean seriously, a lot of this stuff looks amateurish.

Overall, it's not bad. Could have been better, but could also have been much worse. I'm really not thrilled with the hands. Yeah, I know, the clamps were questionable in the 60s and 70s and today would have been laughed at, but I was hoping for some variation on a claw theme.

I like this, cant wait to see them again.

Will need to fire up Seeds of death again just for a quick reminder.

Looks perfectly fine to me. Keep in mind its going to be lit differently on the episode.

Glad they got rid of those tufts of fur that stuck out between armor sections.

That does play in with the rumors we've been hearing.

Jeez, fans. Change the design, they bitch. Stick as close to the original design as they can, they bitch louder.

I'd like to invite everyone to Google "Ice Warriors" and see what the classic series versions looked like.

There was a roaring monstrous head in the trailer. Also nice three-clawed hands. I wonder if the actor Spocks inside those gloves.

Unless it's a Dalek. Then 'as close to the original' is more preferred.

Believe me, I'm as puzzled as you are.

When I saw the image, I thought, "Fans should be thrilled with this! Dang close to the original design. Yeah, the 'beer gut' was trimmed down and the center of gravity lifted to form more imposing pectoral plating, but that's a good thing, right? And, true, they veered away from the 'Satan's Robot' pincers, going instead with a 3 digit hand, but it looks substantially thick and armored. Surely they'll forgive that accomodation?"

    I guess not.

    Sincerely...confused,

    Bill

Fans, it's lucky they don't let them run the show...er...

    Anyway. Love it!
