I'm blind in one eye, so 3D does nothing for me unfortunately.

I really love the music that accompanies the trailer. Much like Pine said regarding the movie, it's relentless. Reminds me of the Inception soundtrack.

    That Inception noise gets everywhere!

Although I should point out that something very similar to the Into Darkness trailer BWAAHH music was used in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Gemini", which pre-dates Inception by a few years!

Bill, you aren't missing anything. Imagine one of those cardboard box theatres - the ones with characters on sticks manipulated from outside the box (don't know if there's an official designation for it). Essentially, "3D" cinema is just this, a high tech method of tricking your brain into seeing layered 2D images - sending you cross eyed in the process! For me, it's all gimmick - and is rarely worthy or particularly effective.

Well, converted 3D films might be like that, but films shot in 3D are beginning to become more common, such as:

3D gives me a headache. Can't stand it.

Yes, movies shot 3D native can certainly provide a more dynamic rendering of the effect, but nevertheless, it's exactly the same - a process that fools your brain into viewing layered 2D images. I totally accept some are sold on it, but I find it highly distracting.
