..there's one HUGE critical flaw that, if one were rating an ep, knocks a whole star off. "You've tempted me with that before. We're not looking for a quick fix. We'll get back through hard work." Oh BEEEE ESSSSSS. In "Deathwish" it required her lying or compromising her morality. Fine. I can understand that. Here...if you want to say Q's plan simply won't work, or it will make things worse, that's fine. But spare me the B***S***. Janeway should be perfectly willing to endure a night of cosmic copulation or spare some DNA to get her crew home without any crap about taking the easy way home. Aside from that, I liked the ep fine.
Data said it was a pet and master scenario. Q knew she wasn't going to sleep with him, but Q wasn't going to sleep with him until they both went through the linear motions of being spurned and then fighting a war. They're a continuum, they have to jump every hurdle and cross every T... No skipping to the end for these people. They all have to be the scarecrow.
Janeway could go back in de pilot with the caretaker but preferred to save a dying race, the Ocampas. But they had to fill up 7 seasons.
That's hardly the biggest flaw in that episode alone. Though the look on everyone's face when Janeway announced she "took one for the team" and they were going home, might've been funny.
I dunno.. I would rather pair him with Janeway. He certainly has at least one element of being Janeway's type, he's provocative. I did laugh at him snapping up Picard's ex though.
Or his threat of if he'd known Picard was so touchy about women, he'd have appeared to Picard as one.
Other way around. Archer didn't win a single fist fight in four seasons. Although if you watch the pilot, which I haven't in 10 years possibly, the alien posing as farpoint station resolved it's own plight and all Picard didn't do to make the situation worse was use Enterprise to stun the beast into submission forcing it to remaintain it's slave life as a best of burden. Doctor Who had an episode about slave space whales that was kinda similar near the beginning of Amy Ponds run.
He would have threatened to knock Q on his ass. One minute after he met him. In front of his superiors and foreign dignitaries.
