I agree with what most people are saying in that thread, HMX is probably holding onto Cemetary Gates for RB3 and they'll release the rest of Cowboys From Hell after that.

Hah, yeah, the note tracking looks kind of awkward... I'd just hope that the promise of actually being able to play the song in real life if you're able to master it in the game holds true. At the very least it should teach you the muscle memory that you need to pull off certain chords and whatnot.

This seems sort of late to the party, even if they can promise even half of their "game changer" ambitions. The name brands Guitar Hero and Rock Band are already out there. They're like TurboGrafx when there's already Nintendo and Sega.

Oh yeah. I hope they don't have completely unrealistic expectations for the game and certainly this may end up being like Rock Revolution, but I think they might have a decent niche product here.

The genre is already in a downswing, which is why Rock Band 3 will have a keyboard of some sort. Any change might be good.

On another random note, new RBN rules were released - all songs have to use all the fret buttons on all difficulties now. I have no idea why they'd do that, but there it goes.

Just listened to a segment on the Giantbomb podcast which kind of shat all over the game. It seems the "real guitar" part only really teaches you chords if you want to use it as some kind of training tool. Oh well!

And Joystiq says the drum peripheral is a massive fail. Looks like this game is gonna turn out like another 'Rock Revolution'.

Wary about the new songs, but the others are good. I'll pick those up, at least.

Wow, it's like they hired someone with the specific job of going through Ozzy's catalog to find his worst songs.

Here's 5 songs that should be there:

    Diary of a Madman
    Bark at the Moon
    Flying High Again
    Perry Mason
    Over The Mountain

Learning those songs on real guitar back in the day made my hands bleed.

RB3 details revealed. Now the reason why RBN songs have new rules becomes a bit clear - they are doing their own Six String guitar controller.

Also, drums are getting cymbals and the keyboard will be a 25 key midi keyboard.

I can't even imagine how much this will cost. 500 bucks?

Also, PowerGig is now officially dead. I kind of feel bad for them...

What do you mean Power Gig is dead? Someone pulled the plug on them? Or they're toast because of Rock Band 3?

Your YouTube link stopped mid-clip. I hope they were talking about being able to export RB2 songs into RB3.

    Some songs revealed for RB3:

    "Combat Baby" -- Metric
"Dead End Friends" -- Them Crooked Vultures
    "Get Free" -- The Vines
    "Lasso" -- Phoenix
    "Me Enamora" -- Juanes
"Oh My God" -- Ida Maria
"Portions of Foxes" -- Rilo Kiley
"The Hardest Button to Button" -- The White Stripes
"Been Caught Stealing" -- Jane's Addiction
    "In the Meantime" -- Spacehog
    "Plush" -- Stone Temple Pilots
"Walkin' on the Sun" -- Smash Mouth
    "Crazy Train" -- Ozzy Osbourne
"Here I Go Again" -- Whitesnake
"I Love Rock and Roll" -- Joan Jett
"Just Like Heaven" -- The Cure
"Rainbow in the Dark" -- Dio
"The Power of Love" -- Huey Lewis and the News :techman:
    "Sister Christian" -- Night Ranger
    "Bohemian Rhapsody" -- Queen
"Break On Through" -- The Doors
    "Crosstown Traffic" -- Jimi Hendrix

Yeah, PowerGig can't compete with RB3 if they're basically doing the exact same thing. Maybe if you really like Eric Clapton or Kid Rock, you'd buy their game... but that seems like madness.

And yeah, that's the only YT video that I could find. The link above it should have the full thing.

I think if they announced that they would be patching old songs to work with "Pro" mode, I'd run out and buy the guitar. There are probably some songs from RB1/2 that have piano parts that could be patched as well.

^ Well Baba O'Reilly with piano would allow someone to actually do something during the first 45 seconds of the song. :)

There are only two songs on the confirmed list for RB3 that I know and love already. This is looking more and more like a rental for me instead of an automatic buy.

speak for yourself. "Power of Love", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Here I Go Again" alone are so full of awesome that they justify the purchase for me.

I hope and pray they allow for track importing in the Wii version. I know since there's no HDD you can't do it the same way as the PS3/360 versions... but maybe there can be some way to register your copy of RB2 with Harmonix, then the RB2 songs appear for you to DL in the store?

I know, I know: wishful thinking....
