I guess we should erect a statue for every bunch of teens who for the first time boldly experiment with driving & spirits and orphan half a dozen sets of kids in addition to killing themselves? Moutaineering is fine with me. Shedding tears (or helicopter fuel) for idiots who manage to Darwin themselves out of the equation on their littering and advertising tour is waste of good liquid. Timo Saloniemi
I feel the deepest compassion for those unfortunate who happened to marry the fucking idiots that fell to their deserved deaths, and had to raise their fatherless kids and live with the other consequences. Perhaps there should be a permanent machine gun outpost at the base camp for executing anybody stupid enough to try something like that? Not that ship registries in the real world would honor anything much. But I trust nobody would name a vessel after a criminal moron from that bunch. Timo Saloniemi
I think that's quite enough, Timo. It's one thing not to feel about those deaths the same way others do but calling them insults and even criminals goes a little too far and will needlessly rile up other people. Let's get back to discussing registry numbers and their meanings please, everyone.
NCC-2525, can be assigned to either the USS Exordium or USS Terminus. Pause, while the rest of you catch up with that reference.
Hospital ship, NCC-4077, USS Hawkeye. BTW, while to me NCC stands for Naval Construction Contract, NAR seems to be Naval Astronomical Research. Or something like that...
Me too! Would the ship be commanded by Henry Blake, Sherman T. Potter, or Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce? Would Frank Burns be the First Officer? Who would play "Hot Lips", Sally Kellerman or Loretta Swit? Navigator NCC-2120 USS Entente /\
USS Arizona, NCC-2001 USS Anaheim, NCC-2002 USS Miami, NCC-2003 USS Boston, NCC-2004 or NCC-2007 USS Chicago, NCC-2005 USS Philadelphia, NCC-2008 USS New York, NCC-2009 USS San Francisco, NCC-2010 USS St. Louis, NCC-2006 or NCC-2011 Yes, it really is that obvious.
