There is elegance in simplicity, which I apply to the bridge design. I like the D-style, with chairs for the Captain, XO and (empathic) Diplomat. And, the variable geometry warp nacelles and atmospheric travel would probably require functional streamlining. I kind of like the arrowhead design for the saucer section. Although it may not be possible, what if you combined that design with an Oberth-style body? The Oberth was the coolest design, although it was probably the most impractical one. And, please don't abandon the Observation Lounge, behind the Main Bridge! Could all these variables be combined into a design for the Vesta-class ships?

You can! Just join an official fan club. Germany turned their fanzines into a translated version of the mag!

The Aventine is beautiful! A logical evolution of the familiar design. Too bad you and Sean were not allowed to design the Star Trek Online ships which just look like cheap kitbashes of AMT models.

Yes I got my copy last night and read and looked at it this am. Loved the art and the changes Mark made. Still falling in love with this new lady.

I couldn't get too good a look at the sample image, but it looks like he changed out the "Defiant-ish" wedge prow for a more Ent-E/Voyager saucer...is that correct?

Thought it killed me to switch away from September's great shot (pre-refit Enterprise) the Aventine is featured for this month in the SotL calendar.

Er...not to nitpick (yeah, right), but how did we arrive at a mass of 321,630 tons?

Are we going to 'officially' find out what the Aventine's bridge will look like?

Have they talked about the Aventine over in Trek Tech as well, or is all "uncanon" ship discussion done here in Trek Lit?

some consider the treklit books soft canon, but the opinions differ quite a bit. truthfully, its safer to say that the aventine is uncanon.
