Drum roll... Nick Frost! Michael Troughton! Also Nathan McMullen (Who I've never heard of but I think was in Misfits?) Well we had Pegg, seems only fitting to get Frost too.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwh...to-guest-star-in-Doctor-Who-Christmas-Special Also Natalie Gumede and Faye Marsey, whoever they are. Jenna is confirmed as still being in the special too.
Nick Frost is a fine addition! Good to have another Troughton on the show, although I'm not familiar with his work except for the one Big Finish audio play he has done and apparently an episode of Blake's 7 (according to IMDb).
Well, he was in Midnight, for sure. Also impersonated his father's Second Doctor, in particular his clone, in a Fourth Doctor audio story released by the late AudioGo.
Michael is the chubbier of them, who wrote his father's biography based on his own childhood diaries detailing his dad's comments at the time (and, it seems, was probably part of the reason Patrick Troughton took the role of the Doctor - Michael was a fan of the show). He's got a fairly thankless early role in the Blake's 7 episode Children of Auron (as a space pilot used as a plague carrier), but otherwise is probably best known as Rik Mayall's hapless 'old Tory' sidekick Piers in the political satire The New Statesman.
He and Colin were flatmates around 1970, and I think they were each other's best man at some point (not sure when, or which way round). Actually, David Troughton has a pretty good score for 'worked withs'... Pertwee in Curse of Peladon, Tom in the BBC Audio plays, Colin in Stranger, Tennant in Midnight, and probably more elsewhere He does a lot of radio, think he wand Tennant were both in Radio Four's The Caesars, but not necessarily int he same episodes, as I think David Troughton played Julius and Tennant was one of the later emperors. Haven't checked that though).
He also worked with his father in two serials, three Big Finish audios with Peter Davison, and one audio with Colin Baker.
I dunno. I got excited when I heard Bill Bailey was going to be in "The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe". That turned out to be mostly a waste. I'll wait and see how it turns out.
Nor I, or if I once did, I must've forgotten. I suppose it's only fitting that someone called Frost should appear in the Christmas special. Simon Pegg, Jessica Hynes, Michael Smiley and now Nick Frost. They're fairly working their way through the cast of Spaced.
We just need Mark Heap, Julia Deakin and Katy Carmichael! Of course if we could An Adventure in Space and Time then Reece Shearsmith's done Who, and of course Bill Bailey was also in Spaced. I'm surprised we haven't seen (or maybe just heard) Serafinowicz yet! Ida from The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pitt was also in an episode of Spaced, and perhaps more famously, David Walliams has done both. There are probably others!
He meant who has been in Who and Spaced, hence he mentioned Gatiss and Tony Way he was saying both had already been in both.
