The DVDs arrived today. Mint condition, legit versions (lots of Chinese fakes on ebay) an utter steal. I love eBay.
Nice one! What have I bought recently? Hmm, not much. Got a bottle of Urziger Wurzgarten Loosen Riesling; I love Loosen's wine, and the Urziger always rocks out. And oh yeah, bought a Tom Ford bowtie. Very cool colours and nice silk. Um, lattes and sandwiches at my usual lunch spot; no table available today though... grr... That's about it recently I think apart from the usuals like petrol and groceries. Come to think of it, I've been pretty frugal for a while. I think it's because I know I've got a five-figure tax bill to pay next year, so psychologically, I'm in savings mode a little.
I took a little trip to New York this week, and spent a day at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum- and bought some goodies: an old style New York Mets pennant, a rubber duck with the Museum logo, a Mets pen, and a "Mets in the hall of fame" t-shirt for my sister. Took a lot of pictures, too. On the way home, I had lunch at the Cracker Barrell, and picked up four of the new Jingle Beanie Babies for my Beanie X-Mas tree- a kitten, a husky pup, a reindeer, and a guinea pig. So damn cute.
Two songs from Amazon, an oil and filter change for the Avalon, a foot long sandwich from Subway, some glucosamine from the pharmacy and some dishwashing soap. An exciting day, I tell ya.
I got a Shaun the Sheep back pack off ebay. Now I got hooked on a kids show--Timmy Time. I love Aardman Productions.
Sandworms is actually pretty good...at least better than what I expected. I don't think that's really how Frank wanted to end the series though as Pinky and the Brain claim.
i'm almost finished with Chapterhouse: Dune and i have Hunters of Dune and i know that, even if i hate Hunters i'll want to finish out the series anyway. all the negative things i read about Hunters and Sandworms just makes me very, very afraid. the only Brian Herbert/KJA Dune book i have read is The Winds of Dune. it wasn't terrible. it kept my interesting going, but it just seemed unnecessary. some things don't fit in very well. i think in Dune it states that Paul has never been offworld before and in Winds he goes planet hopping when he's 11.
Not a purchase but an almost-in-the-garbage-pick. A fabulous shelf unit was being hauled out to the dumpster at the stupormarket where i shop. I asked if i could have it and they gladly gave it to me. It's all wood, four shelves and very good looking. w00t!
Is this a novelization or just the comic collected in TPB form? My latest purchase: food and medicine.
I placed an order on Amazon yesterday for the Battlestar Galactica Blu-ray series set. Today I purchased the Dr. Strangelove Blu-ray, which I'll be watching for the first time ever (and for my politics & film class) tomorrow.
Today I had to go on eBay to find a few packs of Trivial Pursuit's Junior question cards. Apparently not a single toy store is selling them anymore. Bah.
A silver and onyx ring (to go with my pendant) A fire-resistant lock box (for important documents) A computer chair Some nice dishes, glassware, and flatware Some vanilla parfum de maison for my lampe berger A small french-press coffeemaker Two tins of Tazo Vanilla Rooibos It was a good day. I got everything I wanted except a haircut and beard trim. The barber closed five minutes before I arrived. Boy, was I mad. But some intensive retail therapy helped me resolve my anger issues.
I went clothes shopping today and got some awesome shirts and rocking pants! I'll be one stylin' dude.
