    Nice thread title.

I'm not much of a 'shipper for any show, I find arguing about such things kinda silly, but I lean more towards the T/T side myself.

Nice new thread and great pictures, everyone. :)

I've never been a big 'shipper for other shows either -- although I have "liked" a few other couples -- guess I made a bit of an exception for T/T. :) Anyway, I don't think you have to be a 'shipper to enjoy or post in this thread -- so welcome! :)

And a few pictures from what I call the "TnT Standing Together" collection. Even during times when Trip and T'Pol didn't seem to have much "non-work related" interaction and dialogue, they still got to stand next to each other a lot. And they even had matching accessories on occasion! ;)

Yay for the new thread. :)

tothebridge: "The standing together collection" I love it.

Randy1012: Welcome. :) I've only shipped for a handful of pairings and only one other Trek pairing, myself, but I've been around a while in various fandoms and shipping as a whole. It isn't really about arguing. It's about the appreciation of the characters and their relationship. At least that's what it's about from where I'm coming from, so long live Trip/T'Pol.

Yep, that's what I call it. They stand next to each other quite a bit. Like this....

    And this....

And is it really necessary that they stand this close to each other when working? I think not! ;)

Actually... One of the few things I learned in film was that you have to make people be unnaturally close together to get them both in the same shot unless you're too far away to see them clearly. ;)

Oh, c'mon! Everybody knows they stand close together because of some indefinable, undeniable something!

Sheesh, next thing you know, he'll be telling us they stood Jolene up on Scully's box for close-ups so her face would be closer to Connor's.

Whatever the reason, it obviously worked at fueling their chemistry.

While it is true about film (actually moreso TV since film actually is large and wide and they have more room) and the need for setting up actors closer together, I think in some of those pics they really didn't quite need them standing so close together. The wider shots had plenty of room for them to spread out. ;) Though I suppose they'd want the wider shots to match the closer up shots so they'd have to set them up in the same positions... However, I think at least a couple of those shots were intentional... especially the one at the desk from "Oasis".

There are also lots of instances of them just stepping in and getting into each other's personal space... and often to get more face to face too. The first few that come to mind are "Broken Bow", "Breaking the Ice" and "Horizon".

Comes down to that "chemistry" thing, I think... the thing JB and CT had no idea was happening, but that the directors may have been seeing in the dailies, and incorporating in subsequent blocking for later episodes... who knows? :)

^^ Perhaps. :) I just know they always seemed to stand out in their scenes together even from the very beginning. At least for me they did. :)

Just thought I'd add a pic of my own to the mix. This is a non-calendar version of the wallpaper I made for the Trip/T'Polers calendar... I still want to add some sort of text but I can't make up my mind about what to use. Here it is anyway. ;)
