Re: Ships of the Line 2014 That's a modified Belknap. To follow up, yeah, Madkoifish confirmed that they do get paid for their contributions to the calendar.
Re: Ships of the Line 2014 Judging from your user name, I'd say that's a pretty definitive answer! Thanks for sharing this info! (IIRC, the Athabaska Class is from the old Starfleet Prototype, is that correct?)
Re: Ships of the Line 2014 The Belknap dates from at least 1985 as you can see from this page. I actually bought these prints back in the 80's Regardless, the calendar image looks great. It's always hard to make that class look good from any angle but the side. Great job!
I think people have already been discussing their impressions of the calendar so yes, let's put reviews in here too. I'll amend the title.
Re: Ships of the Line 2014 Agreed on the Athabaska ID for "Smile"! Odd to not see a registry number on the hull.
It is kinda sad for me, but it took until only recently to find that picture of the Athabasca class. Oh, I love this picture! Our old club ship was recognized in 1993 by Star Fleet as the second Athabasca launched, the U.S.S. Liberator, NCC-2561. No matter how many new and awesome ships come out, she is still my favorite ship of all. I wish I had the mesh or a 3d model of her, to take pictures at other angles. And I hope it was not presumptuous of me to use that awesome picture for my Facebook group. The club lay long in mothballs from lack of activity, but at least I can get back in touch with some of the old crew...
