FYI, the Vengeance bridge WAS the Enterprise bridge. After all the Enterprise scenes were done filming, the production crew redid the entire thing in black (along with several other modifications, of course).

This is covered in the Target Blu-ray features.

I can't see how anyone thinks the original Vengeance bridge concepts are "cool." I mean, sure, if you think the Imperial Throne Room was cool too. I can almost hear Khan now: "Your fleet is lost. Your friends on the sentry moon will not survive."

If it'd turned out that way, the number of people screaming Star Wars would have been deafening.

No more deafening than the "J.J. Abrams raped my childhood" crowd.

There's a difference between it possibly having the same spirit/execution as Star Wars, and it actually LOOKING EXACTLY LIKE Star Wars. For the record, I don't subscribe to the former. But you'd be hard-pressed to ignore the latter if the above concept art had come to fruition.

The thing is, it didn't immediately remind me of Star Wars but of the place where Picard and company first meet Shinzon in Star Trek: Nemesis.

Look, I'm no purist by any means, but those are just nonsensical in design and very ugly. The first one especially. It looks like some Halo-eqsue alien ship, not like it was built by humanity.

    Damn, but those are awesome.

I really like how the uniforms seem to be HD versions of the original TOS designs, and how the new bat'leth incorporates three spikes at each end, seeming to recall the Klingon trefoli emblem a bit.

Also, Klingons wearing helmets just kinda makes sense to me now, like it should have always been so. :rommie:

Seems like they filmed the lead Klingon with green contacts, but made them brilliant blue in post-production.

Though I must admit the Klingons with no hair look better in their helmets than the Klingons with the hair hanging out.

Better in a way... but the protruding hair looks scruffier and more unkempt to me, and ergo more Klingon.

I'd like to see a mix. All bald Klingons is about as bad as all Romulans with bowl hair cuts.

They look mean, menacing, and completely non-Starfleet (given fleet ships in all versions of Trek have had a certain grace to them). Of course, I guess those are the thoughts they wanted to invoke with the look.

If this had been a ship in ST09, can you imagine what would've happened among fans if someone had leaked these shots before release and said they were concept art for the new look of the Enterprise? The prank probably would've been responsible for several thousand heart attacks.

I think the next-to-last Vengeance there is my favorite, but I suddenly just noticed how much the last one looks like the TMP Enterprise, especially in the nacelles. Neat.

I still kinda wish the Vengeance had had three or four nacelles, preferably three. :rommie:
