Can't resist pointing out that that Amazon has finally posted the cover of my upcoming LEVERAGE novel, based on the very fan-friendly TV series . . ..

And, yeah, there may be a Trek joke or two in the book.

    Age of the geek, baby!

I'm only an on-and-off viewer of Leverage, but will definitely check out your and Keith's contributions.

Thanks for posting that! A very snazzy cover, if I do say so myself! :)

Congrats Greg, that cover looks very snazzy indeed!

    I'm afraid I've never even heard about this TV series. You'd probably say it's a must-see. ;)

It *is* a must-see, the modern Mission Impossible with more laughs. Or, if you prefer, Hustle done with a lot more verve and action.

The show is in its fourth season, but it's very accessible so feel free to jump aboard. It's basically about a team of crooks and con artists who run elaborate scams to help out people who have been screwed over by the system:

"The rich and powerful take what they want. We steal it back for you."

And, yeah, the scifi jokes fly fast and furious sometimes, as well as guest-spots by some of our favorite genre actors. Did I mention that both Wil Wheaton and Jeri Ryan play recurring characters, and that some guy named Frakes has directed several eps?

(Wil plays an outlaw hacker, btw. Jeri plays a sexy grifter who helps the Leverage crew out on occasion.)

Will have to see if it becomes available after I straighten out my cable issues with the landlord (it's supposedly included with my rent, but it seems the previous tenant ran off with the cable box...).

    That's a very distinct cover.

    You're welcome.

In case anyone is wondering, these are the covers for the other two Leverage novels:

The Zoo Job by Keith R.A. DeCandido

The Con Job by Matt Forbeck

They're all kind of generic and not at all plot-specific, but I think the one on Greg's book looks the best. It has the best team pose, composition, and background.

Well, I admit to being biased, but I really like my cover, too. The red-and-white color scheme strikes me as very eye-catching.

That would be "Sophie Deveraux" (NOT her real name), failed actress and notorious con artist . . . .

Gotta hope it will live up to its title, I guess? :)

Please admire the cheeky way I got "Bestseller" onto the cover in big letters!

For the uninitiated: all Leverage titles are "The [Something] Job." My book involves a scam set in the world of big-time published, so . . . .

My favorite Leverage episode title is "The Bottle Job" -- which was a bottle show (limited to standing sets to save money) revolving around a scam to save a bar. So it's a dual-meaning, punny title, and one of those meanings is metatextual!

I believe the title of Matt's book has a double meaning--in that it's about running a con at a convention.

^And of course you're hoping your title has a double meaning...

If you'll indulge me a bit of self-promotion, this book finally went on sale yesterday!

And, yes, there may be a Star Trek reference or two . . . .
