    Wait, vote for just one?:alienblush:

    Just kidding!;)

Vote cast! We have an early leader-but only half of the previous voters have weighed in.

With the most sincere apologies to PSGarak I had to cast my vote for Nerys Ghemor's excellent A Stone's throw away.

This was really a hard choice for me, two excellent Cardassian stories, How can a Gul chose? I went with NG because I think that the Thirteenth Order series is one of the best examples of worldbuilding that I have ever read.

I'm just happy to see two Cardassian stories in the running. :bolian: And I would never be ashamed to be beat by something as poetic and haunting as Nerys Ghemor's writing. I have to agree with Thor Damar about her "Thirteenth Order". For those of you who haven't yet checked that out on Ad Astra, get cracking! Go! Go!

Yeah, had to go with the Lady Ghemor as well. Hers was chilling in its subtlety, and you couldn't help but feel sympathy for the main character.

Garak, you're was good too. But I only got one vote.

It's a draw at the moment (at 23:12 GMT). Has the Cardassian vote been counted?

The pre-Federation United Earth vote goes to the rather anguished Tayben Berat. Both stories were beautifully written, however in the end, the powerful emotion of Nerys' story managed to tip the scales ever so slightly in her favor.

Yeah, you might have to fight it out Cardassian style, monologues at ten paces;)

Maybe we need a new rule - only one Cardassian story per contest!

We could declare them joint winners, and they could collabarate on a challenge for the month of August.

^ There's logic in that idea. Although it's still three hours till close of poll...

Is there anyone left to break the tie? Note to selves have an odd numbered of persons in this forum for any future run-offs! ;)

I say first one to list the ingredients to a Cardassian Sunrise gets it if all else fails.

Okay . . . I'm not sure if this has happened before. I'm certainly not going to arbitrarily pick a winner. Here are some options -

    1. Nerys Ghemor and PSGarak could be declared co-winners and colaborate on the August challenge.
    2. A coin flip could suffice, though you would have to trust me on it. *flips two-headed coin through fingers and chuckles menacingly.* ;)
    3. A cage-match fight to the death. This poses several moral, legal and logistical problems, though it would definitely put the winner in high standing.

I would appreciate input from Nerys and PSG - we need to settle this thing before August runs into September!

Dang! This conundrum is tougher than the Kobayashi Maru scenario. :wtf:

Definitely time to call it a tie, I think! Both entries should go into the winning entries thread.
