    There are no Skrulls in this movie. This comes straight from Marvel.

    The trailer looks impressive but I'm reserving judgement until I see clips from the film that last more than 1/10 of a second.

    Yeah, no Red Skull either. I'm not too disappointed about the lack of Red Skull, but it really would have been cool to see the Skrulls depicted in a live action production.

    ETA: They apparently were Skrulls initially, but were changed in name and design during production for legal reasons. It seems Fox may actually own the movie rights to the race. So I've read anyway.

    So what do we have invading Earth if they're not the Skrulls? Did they create a race, or did they pull a different group from the comic mythos?

    In the Empire interview I mentioned the Marvel guy said that the race "exists in the comic books". So yeah, they just picked another existing race.

    ETA: After some brief research my guess would be that they're using the Chitauri. Just a guess though.

    Basically nothing ending with "ull". So I wouldn't expect to see Jethro Tull either.

    From what I remember in an early interview, I think the Skrulls will be in the sequel and I'm guessing Tony will be one.

    Very quick Super Bowl Trailer, I think they missed the boat on trying to drum up even more buzz than there already is. Still seeing all those heroes together was pretty amazing.

    The pan around the whole team was great, but Black Widow reloading her pistol bugged me for some reason.

    Then I realized it was just my old complaint of differing power levels. Hawkeye, Steve and Black Widow are just completely outclassed by the three other members of the team.

    It would be like I'm on patrol in Iraq again, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of training, ten grand worth of rifle, body-armor and goodies on my person. Apache gunships and Paladin 155mm rounds at my beck and call. I've got a pair of buddies similarly equipped. And then our covering element is three six year old kids with a slingshot, a trash-can lid and a water pistol.

    Bah, whatever. The movie looks good.

    yeah, but did anyone else notice that Hulk seems to appear from nowhere during that pan.

    he's clearly not next to hawkeye at the beginning, but he's there once they do the full 360.

    I thought maybe bruce might have been there and transformed during the pan, but when i re-watched it he wasn't.

    I am such a nerd...

    I don't think that modern Cap uniform works as well as his WWII one. It looks like it would be more at home on a theme park performer.
