    exterior:

1- impulse engineering: i'd lower it to saucer level
2- nacelle pylons: i'd reduce pylon inclination, and i'd put them nearer to the hangar

    interior:

perfect, as seen in TWOK, but i really don't like the wap core pass through the neck section.

The nacelle pylons always struck me as a little too showy, like the huge, angular collars on late-1970s disco shirts, or the wide flare of the era's bellbottom slacks. I would have made them a little more business-like and understated.

A couple of extra phaser banks on the drive section as well as an aft-firing torpedo launcher included behind the forward torpedo bays. Larger windows for the arboretum.

The refit Enterprise(movies 2-6) was my favorite version of them all. Wouldn't change it at all.

Exterior? Wouldn't change a thing. Perfect starship.

Interior? I don't know. I can't say there's anything wrong with it, there's nothing I don't like. Maybe a bit too cold and sterile, but that's not a problem.

But with TOS, I felt comfortable and familiar with those interiors. It was a place I wanted to be.

    Refit interiors, not so much.

I wouldn't have done anything to change the exterior at all. As a refit of the exisiting TOS design, it's absolutely perfect. :)

However I would have prefered the interiors to more closely resemble those seen in TOS. Not so much in the color scheme (I think TMP's more realistic color scheme is fine), but more in the actual design of the sets. Instead of those tight angular corridors, I'd have prefered they had used something that looked like sleeker versions of the ones we saw in TOS, for example. To some degree the interiors sort of look a bit too different from TOS for me to really buy that it's a refit of the TOS ship rather than a brand new build.

One thing I really loved about the 1701-A in TFF and TUC was that the bridge had more of a shadow of the TOS original, particularly in using those wrap-around consoles on the perimeters. In a funny sorta way it's more credibly a redsign of the TOS ship than what we saw in TMP/TWOK/TSFS.

    Changes?

Go-go dancers, champagne fountains on every deck, an all you can eat buffet, and DISCO SATURDAY NIGHT.

But the ship itself is fine.

I'd change these two things about the refit as shown in TMP:

    - Put some COLOR into it already. Damn ship's practically monochrome!

    - Get rid of those damn pajama uniforms. The monster maroons were much better.

    - Get rid of the huge wide open cargo bay. THere's alot of unusable space in there.
    - The shuttle bay should just be a upgraded version of the original. Like the A.
    - No visible impulse deflection crystal. If it's not part of a vertical thrust system. We shouldn't see it from outside the ship.
    - I agree with no angular corridor walls everywhere. It didn't make sense. The circular corridors should be flat-sided with the radiating straight corridors being angular.
-There should have been a proper warp reactor below the vertical intermix tube. I think Phase II had a design for one.
-Finally. If the sets don't fit. Make the ship a little bigger.

I'd change the oil every 30,000 light years.

Would that be the warp plasma?
And rotate the warp coils every 250,000 light years.
I think Voyager actually did that.

Only thing I would change is make the nacelle pylons more sturdy, other than that she's fine.

After all, we could have ended up with this!

Oh, there's nothing inherently WRONG with the design, it's just not close enough to the TOS Enterprise. A lot of fans would have complained it's too radical a change (plus there is the fact that unfortunately it does bear the influences from a certain Star Destroyer design from another little-known franchise!).

Here are my suggestions to the refit. I like the showy nacelle supports. I might have them cranked close to the base.

I would lengthen the secondary hull up to Balson's dimentions, and make the saucer a tad wider.

Take at look at these: http://imageshack.us/a/img812/5886/ixl.png (Not mine )

I would lengthen the nacelles, and give them the shaved Raan type front end

I would place a smaller impulse deck on the back of the base of the saucer.
The saucer itself would have the impulse deck that the Abbe Interceptor has--but in place of the Abbe's spar hull, I would place aft torpedo/megaphaser tubes betweeen the exhaust vents
