New image released from Star Trek Into Darkness

One cool thing about this image is that it appears to reveal the "Wrath of Kahn" mis-direction in the Japanese trailer-teaser. I am thinking of the image at the end, with two hands separated by glass - clearly there to evoke Spock's death scene.

However, in this new image we can see that that hands in the image is most likely Spock and "Harrison". Note how the sleeve colors match the costumes in this "brig" scene.

 

Why is there what looks like a random bottomless pit behind Kirk?

 

Just looks like a step down to a red carpeted level, probably with the controls. Which would be more like the TNG setup, it's a mixture of a lot of the brig rooms we've seen, not all that important.

Don't know. But it looks like a sprained ankle waiting to happen, to me. I can just see Pine turn around to start walking and forgetting that step down is there.

 

Nah, a force-field is there to protect the ankles of the unwary. Pretty snazzy brig though, wonder if it is escape-proof?
