There many good ones, but I didn't want to include too many options in the poll.

Favorite SciFi Show is Babylon 5

Followed by ST: DS9, and then Farscape and Doctor Who are about tied for 3rd place.

You should definitely have Babylon 5, Farscape and Firefly on the poll.

    And probably the Matrix franchise.

For me anything that's a "franchise" fave outside of Trek is literary: esp. the Culture novels by Iain Banks and the Revelation Space series by Alistair Reynolds.

I considered including Matrix and Babylon 5. They were both competing for the Quantum Leap spot. I have honestly never seen Farscape or Firefly.

The latter two, and Babylon 5, have pretty strong fanbases among also-Trekkies. I don't know that Quantum Leap does by comparison but I could be wrong about that.

Quantam Leap is kind of old school. It did at one point in time, but I don't know how popular it is today. So, curiosity was what inclined me to include it.

Be interesting to see how many X-Philes are left, too. ;)

I can't pick only one, not even if you included Star Trek. It seriously depends on what I'm in the mood for as to which one I'd watch at any point in time. ST, SW, B5, DW, Firefly, SG, BSG, etc etc etc.... They're all my favorite!

    Star Wars for me.

By the way, Galactica tends to split into old and nu.

I chose Doctor Who; I wish there had been more options. I also like Stargate, Firefly, Supernatural, Blake's 7 and many others.

If we're talking about TV and movies exclusively, I'd say Babylon 5. On the list given, either Stargate or Doctor Who. If we're allowed to delve into the world of the written word, the answer would be either Foundation-- only because I don't consider Rendezvous With Rama a franchise, despite the sequels-- or the Odyssey series.

It's broken down by "franchise," so voting for Battlestar Galactica could mean the old, the new, or both.

If "Babylon 5" was on the list, that would have gotten the vote.

"Battlestar Galactica " gets the vote. For the Original 1978 series!

"Doctor Who" is a close runner up for the Tom Baker, Jon Pertwee & Colin Baker eras.

Well DW should only take about two weeks non-stop to watch. ;)

On tv, I think nuBSG is the finest individual sci-fi show ever but its 5 seasons can't really supplant 50 years (on and off) of Doctor Who.

And is spelled with only one "l".

    (Sorry. Nitpicky editor here.)

And what, no Lost in Space? :)

    (Just kidding!)

But, yeah, FARSCAPE ran for four-plus seasons, and also beget novels, comic books, action figures, games, etc. It should definitely have been included. Ditto Babylon-5.

In the end, I voted for Planet of the Apes, though, since I've been a huge APES fan since at least the early seventies.
