You know, I realize that in nuWho the sonic-screwdriver has become something of an all-purpose tool, but seriously, is there anything it doesn't do?
Outstanding episode, never expected that character to show up at the end. I bet Clara coming back over and over is tied in with this character that was behind the scenes running the organization.
The sonic's real purpose is to tighten the pacing of the plot. You know when they have to invent something like the deadlock seal to stop it that the sonic screwdriver will do whatever is needed.
You gotta love a boss who lets their underlings take their vacation time before killing them, at least.
This article says it's at the Grange St Paul's Hotel. It would be neat to check out if passing through London. There are spoilers for the show before you click. http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2013/mar/30/doctor-who-bells-of-saint-john The Sky Bar it seems http://www.summer-party-venues.co.uk/grange-hotel-st-pauls-summer-party
Snog Box I do like the trappings of Doctor Who even when I'm not crazy about everything in a given episode.
Well, that was a bit of a snoozer, all right. As mentioned above, some of the bits with the Doctor and Clara were cute and fun, but over all, the show was a bit lacking. I really hope that the remainder of the series improves a bit. I should mention that I DO like the redesigned interior of the TARDIS, though. Great visual stuff.
I thought it was a very clever episode. Nothing outstanding, but the moments worked for the most part. There was some good tension and some good surprises. I didn't expect the reveal at the end (I suspect he'll be a reoccurring villain). What's with the backwards poll choices?
At least Clara is on board at last, though I don't really need another companion mystery to sort out. Still, Jenna is fun to watch with Matt, and so far I have enjoyed her on the show more than Karen/Amy.
