Just the TV edit. I have read the sequel A Dirty Distant War.

I remember reading the parody in the January 1968 MAD Magazine, but don't think I've ever watched the movie straight through from start to finish.

It's a fun movie, but I'd hardly rate it as a masterpiece. I prefer Tarantino's pastiche.

Seen it countless times, own it on DVD, and still watch it every time it's on TV. Classic film.

I've seen it many times and like it. I always like watching Lee Marvin, he had a great presence.

Some have mentioned Inglorious Basterds... that was a movie I quite enjoyed till the last quarter and then ended up basically hating it.

Yes he did and the two TV movie sequels have nothing to do with it. A Dirty Distant War the survivors of the Dozen are sent to the CBI and get in a mission in Vietnam along with Ho Chi Minh

This is a hell of a good film. It's really funny and also really gritty. The Wild bunch and Bonnie and Clyde get a lot of the credit for upping screen violence, but The Dirty Dozen features our heroes locking all the Nazis in a shelter (With their wives and numerous innocents), and pouring gasoline and grenades in the vents. It's pretty intense, and undoubtedly exciting.

Actually, IIRC, servants were the only innocents and they were told to leave.

I saw Flight of the Phoenix once when I was a kid. It wasn't bad from what I recall of it.
