Obligatory Shore Leave Thread

Hi everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!)

And I return just in time to post the obligatory Shore Leave thread. I will be there, of course. This is my 11th Shore Leave. Looking forward to the temporary carpet blindness at the Marriott. (For the record, I'm staying around the corner at the Comfort Inn, which was a Hampton Inn last year.)

So... who else will be there?

Due to my financial situation and other factors, I don't feel comfortable shelling out for flights and hotels this year.

Plus, like Christopher and Greg, I ain't heard anything from anyone doing the writer guest inviting.

 

Well, if William won't be there, I guess I should show up.

I'll be i the states (northeastern us) september 2010 - july 2011... anything interesting in that period?

 

July 9-11 in Baltimore, Maryland.

I'd love to go back to Shore Leave again, but I have too many other travel plans--including another con in the States the weekend before Shore Leave--to make such a trip feasible.

 

are there any other must-be-there conventions that i should know of? sep 2010 - jul 2011. northeastern us i preferred but i guess other areas are possible too.

 

I never been to either Boskone or Arisia, both in Boston, and both supposed to be good.

I myself have to skip Shore Leave-- I get married two weeks after, and it's rapidly looking like the 10th will be the day I move house. Hope to hit up 2011, though!

I'm surprised to hear that Shore Leave hasn't been keeping up with the author invites this year. If they stop doing the big author blitz, I'll probably stop going for the full weekend and just buy a Saturday pass. It's close enough for me to drive from home for the day and I rarely get autographs anyhow.
