So i am a big sci fi fan having watched star gate sg1, star trek, twilight zone, x files, babylon 5 , and even firefly and countless sci fi movies. So i heard farscape was another popular sci fi show and was wondering if its any good?

Farscape is great. One of my favorites! Full of vivid, colorful characters, generous amounts of creative weirdness and, IMHO, probably the best love story in genre television.

(Full disclosure: I edited the novels and wrote for the official magazine.)

I consider it my all time favorite science fiction show, so I'd say yes.

I love Farscape. I actually just started a rewatch, first on ITunes, and now that they've added it again, on Netflix streaming service.

Favorite show of all time (though you have to be patient with the first season).

A great show. They took chances with ideas and stories which paid off. Lots of great characters, even the likes of Rygel and Pilot have great elements and storylines and portrayed so brilliantly that I forget they are puppets. (And lets not forget Ben Browder in leather trousers :) )

    Definitely well worth a watch.

Like Babylon 5 it's a flawed masterpiece but unlike Babylon 5 the changes that were foisted upon it didn't really affect the quality compared to what it might have been. Some people love, some people loathe the puppets. I love them. Some characters can be a bit too manic for my tastes sometimes but overall it's an amazing ride. Well worth a watch.

It's terrific -- unlike anything else you'll see, sf or otherwise.

Yeah, it's an enjoyable show. It's a little strange from time to time but well worth a watch in my opinion.

    I enjoyed it.

I would put it somewhere between 5 and 10 on my top 10 list of SF shows.

This thread just reminds me of how much I wish Jim Henson Productions would do more stuff geared towards older audiences. They do have a few things adult oriented things released through Henson Alternative, but that's mostly just really goofy stuff, I would love to see them do serious SF/F like Farscape again.

They should just go ahead and do a whole Muppet Farscape revival...with Kermit as John Crichton.
