I loved it, and so did my mom, another diehard Firefly fan.

Making it the first non-James Cameron film to do so, and third overall. Titanic is SOOO lucky that it converted to 3-D, grabbing an extra $50M, or else it would have also fallen either today or tomorrow.

In domestic receipts, sure, but worldwide The Avengers doesn't have a chance at Titanic's numbers. Still doing mega-business, though.

    Indeed, brilliant work.

Not Avengers or Firefly related, but I always loved this DS9/BSG intro mash up, really well done

No, only a few excerpts. It's mostly about the concept art. It's a beautiful book!

The guns were SHIELD-issue, which probably means they were actually much MORE than a normal 9mm. Probably had depleted uranium rounds, special propellant, etc.

What is with Amazon's exorbitant preorder price for the Avengers DVD? What bullshit. Looks like I'm walking into a physical store on this one.

Amazon's current pre-order price, at 30% off, is for $153USD for the 10 disc set.
If you bought 10 BluRay films at $20 a pop that would be $200.
If you bought 10 Blu Ray films at $15 a pop that would be $150.

    Where is the outrage?

Maybe because you aren't getting 10 films. You're getting 6 films, plus 4 discs of fluff extras that generally come with the Blu Rays anyway.

It's obviously a preference thing but a good many people pay for that fluff. They offer bare bones versions and 2 disc sets. So people clearly pay for that extra disc of content cause the 2 disc versions sell.

If it bothers you that much then wait till Black Friday...probably be a good sale on it then.

I'm well aware of it. But the point is when you break it all down you're paying $25.50 each for the 6 films. Which is just about what you'd pay for them if you bought them seperately at your local Target or Wally World. Ergo there is no discount.

And it was Set Harth that was outraged. I was just suggesting a reason why.

No need to be outraged. Disney isn't forcing anyone to buy the Blu-ray set. :rommie:

The set will be marked down 40% or better on Black Friday or better during the Christmas Shopping season. I'd bank on it.

As an aside I notice that the poll has been stuck with 299 voters for awhile now. Surely a mysterious 300th BBSer has seen the film and perhaps commented in the thread but just not voted.
