This Thread Has been very popular and you will find your contingent of Wrestling fans there. For me personally, it goes in cycles. I'm not really into it at the moment, but I think once we get ever so closer to Wrestlemania, I'll start watching Raw again.
If by "pro stuff" you mean the fake show no adult should take seriously, and by "the thing that kids and HS student do" you mean the actual sport (who also lets youngster discover their own fluid sexuality outside the bounds of societal repression), I am afraid he means the former.
I don't like either. But when I hear the word "wrestling" I automatically think of the actual sport, while I image most members of this board think of the show on TV. And are you suggesting that young boys in package-displaying tights, groping each other and rolling over one another has a sexual component?
About high school wrestling the two big issues I've noticed in a cursory lookover of the news is that 1) the weight divisions seemed to have changed nationwide 2) girls on boys' teams (and winning) is not at all unusual.
That's because there are so few girls interested in wrestling that it wouldn't make sense to give them their own team.
