The view from Earth

    Was going to ask this on a different forum, but thought I'd get a good response from my favorite posters here.

    Got off work early enough to see Venus setting in the western sky & knew Mercury was nearby & got to thinking, what a close in hot Jupiter would look like from Earth if one were where Mercury was & gravity from the giant allowed our home to be where it is now. Thinking it would be quite a sight.

    My actual thinking for the post was that Venus is so bright in the sky that something Jupiter sized or bigger would be the brightest 'star' in the sky. Would be a sight for sure.
