You have a glass of water. That glass has 50% water and 50% empty space in it.

Is the glass half-full or half-empty?

    I say it's half-empty. I guess that makes me a negative person :p.

    Half-full, I'm the eternal optimist ;)

(Edit: That's part of why I like Star Trek.)

Definitely half-full. I have always been an optimist.

It's half full, until I finish filling it.

Mine tends to be either overflowing or shattered on the floor.

There is no such property as emptiness, only degrees of fullness.

    Depends:

If I'm in the process of filling it, it's ½ full, but if I'm in the process of emptying it it's ½ empty.

However; I 'voted' ½ full due to semantics; that's what it's called in Danish!

To the optimist, the glass is half full.

To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.

To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be... ;)

Mine is half full, but it's got some weird disgusting crap floating in it.

As long as I have a glass, I am content.

I tend to think of myself as a half-full kinda guy ..., though my husband would disagree. If he's right, it's probably because I grew up in a family where, if asked if the glass was half-full or half empty, my mom would inevitably have said it didn't really matter because one of us damn brats was just gonna knock it over anyway.
