So, I've gotten to see the first four episodes of this new non-BBC K9 series. What do people think of it? I'm having trouble bothering to watch. Much as I love K9 from the old days, this show just has nothing to do with Doctor Who (even from a legal standpoint!). The magic just isn't there. And I enjoy the Sarah Jane Adventures! SJA may be for kids but its still got that Whovian feel, and this doesn't.
Cant say im surprised this show is NOTHING to do with the BBC, so to expect it to be like Doctor Who (or Sarah Jane Adventures) was unrealistic.
I've watched the first 5 episodes. After each one I always find it difficult to bring my self to want to watch the next.
I don't mind the redesign, he's actually pretty cute now. He puts his head back and forth like a real dog, waggles his ears. Plus he floats along their heads so the actors don't have to be staring down at the floor anymore
I'm up to episode nineteen (of 26). The first ten were a little shit. Okay, really shit. But once the love triangle with the kids appear and they're all running after the wrong person or oblivious who's after them... I find that amusing. The episode where they go back in time to 1963 was hilarious and about as borderline as they could get to referencing doctor who. Once you accept the limitations and acclimatize to... It's still shit. I just want the mom and the professor to hook up. And they keep mentioning off hand some intense "cataclysm" which wrecked the planet and turned the world into a police state but they haven't yet completely clarified what that was exactly except that the professor was to blame in some capacity which is probably why he is agoraphobic if the disaster which destroyed most of the plant life on the planet and culled the human population back to 6 billion (actually canon aside, I think the writer of that episode ballsed it up by accidentally not amending the human population to a huger number which allowed for the passing of several decades because this show though it rarely seems it, is set in the future.) souls. I want to shoot the little fucking dog.
