Salome Jens should play a Space Jockey.

The undepicted in the flesh Space Jockeys of ALIEN seem like yet another extraterrestrial species I could easily see Salome Jens playing.

All we've seen is the one weird skeleton in the bizarre Derelict.

But, something about the Space Jockeys seems to scream:

"Salome Jens! Please play one of us."

I just realized something else that works here. They both share the same initials:

    SJ

Nah, Andy Zerkis. He's played just about anything else non-human...

Wow - That is actually freaky!'

And I know what you mean. If you remember that final shot of the SJ, in profile, with the light going out on it, it has a real "Salome Jens" look about it!

All things considered it might be better never to depict the SJs in the flesh in ALIEN(S) canonuity.

Some unknowns are best left unknowns sometimes. Some mysteries best left mysteries.

So depicting live SJs canonuously could be ironically self-defeating.

Still, Salome Jens & Andy Zerkis'd be good candidates for the job.

Agreed. The Space Jockey was just a random passerby. While he is an indicator that the universe of Alien has had at least one other tool-using species out there somewhere and somewhen, his story is incedental other than being yet another victim of our acid-bloodied friends.

His story is not incidental to Ridley Scott. He has expressed interest several times in telling his story.

True, however technology today would be able to depict it much better than if they'd tried in 1979. Yes it would mean CGI, but hopefully it would be LOTR-cgi and not Hulk-cgi.
