Samantha didn't appear but she was referred to in story by both Naomi and Neelix.

Too bad Seven was all out of those Borg nanoprobes that saved Neelix...

And, teacake, I'm genuinely curious. What episodes, after "Once Upon a Time," mention Samantha Wildman?

EDIT: A random transcript search has her mentioned in "Shattered." That's one. Although the reference comes from Janeway, who comes from "Caretaker" (season 1) due to the episode's wibbly-wobbly time travel stuff.

Post Once Upon a Time (episode 5.05) mentions of Samantha:

    Infinite Regress 5.07:
NAOMI: I'm not allowed to go swimming without my mom.

    Latent Image 5.11
NAOMI: Is something wrong with me?
EMH: Your health is excellent. This is just another way to make sure that it stays excellent.
NAOMI: Does my mother have to do this?
EMH: Your mother and everybody else on board. I made it part of the annual check-up.

    Bliss 5.14
SEVEN: Naomi Wildman, your presence here is unauthorised. State your intentions.
    NAOMI: I'm hiding.
    SEVEN: From whom?
NAOMI: Everyone. They're all acting strange. Even Mom.
    SEVEN: Elaborate.
NAOMI: She keeps smiling all the time, talking about Earth like it's the greatest place in the universe.
SEVEN: You do not share your mother's desire to return to Earth.

    Dark Frontier 5.15/16:

NAOMI: I went on the mission, the one my Mom told me about, the Borg Sphere, but it didn't work. Everybody got assimilated.
SEVEN: Nightmares are caused by irrational fear. They're not real, they can't damage you. Try to ignore it.

    Survival Instinct 6.02
    NAOMI: Species five two one?
SEVEN: Your mother would not approve of you memorising Borg designations. I don't approve either. We've discussed the impropriety of you emulating the Borg.

    Child's Play 6.19:
    ICHEB: Parents are irrelevant.
EMH: Really. Do you think Naomi's mother is irrelevant to her?

There might be some others too, will look later.

Seeing how she's being spoken about in present tense, I think we can be sure Sam Wildman is alive and well.

I'm not sure why Sam's whereabouts are questioned.
When did we ever see senior staff with a day off?
A few hours, maybe but nobody ever had much time off.

With a device like a holodeck, how much trouble could Naomi be?
It's like putting her infront of a TV/Playstation all day.
If Tom Paris could play superhero in it, a child would literally loose their mind in there.

1 holodeck vs. a hundred and 50 crew but one little snot is monopolizing it's use?

Resentment is going to build up.

You ever hear childless couples talking about "####ing breeders" every time they have to shell out for birthdays and Christmas or how everyone else's children gets in the way of their drinking orgies?

Turn the gravity off and Naomi will be thrilled for days.

Only folks I know using the term "Breeders" are gay people.

    You broke my code.

But I know some straight couples who have decided against children, and I remember my mum complaining about how her sister inlaw had three children, and she only had one.

There was a Melissa Joan Hart Life Time original Movie, where pushing thirty she gets pissed off at the tens of thousands of dollars she's shelled out paying for presents for all her friends weddings, when she can't find a decent man, so she uses this jerk she knows to fake a wedding and run off with all the wedding gifts from friends and family.

I remember breeder as a common term thrown around on the internet whenever CF discussions came up. Maybe it's fallen out of usage.
