The guessing is over: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...age-of-Peter-Capaldis-Doctor-Who-costume.html Thoughts?
Quite like it! Plus I predicted he'd have his top button done up without a tie or anything (top button swag) and I was bang on. The best thing is it doesn't remind me much of a past doctor, it's his own costume which is more than I can say for Smith.
I definitely think it suits this incarnation of the Doctor--noticeably old-fashioned but with a touch of whimsy. I think it'll be a costume that will grow on a lot of people once they see Capaldi in action.
I like the "back to basics" look. Similar to the First and Second Doctor in that it is a dark suit. I'm not thrilled with the idiotic hand gesture though.
To be honest, I can't see much third doctor in it. It's only the red silk lining and the pose that remind me much of Pertwee. While both doctors looks quite posh, I think Capaldi has a more sharp look and quite basic. On the other hand, Pertwee looked quite posh too, but in the more rich lord sort of way with all that silk and thrilly shirts.
I appreciate that there are no ties or bowties this time around. It's a very casual, but modern attire and I wanted something like that.
A bit of Hartnell long black jacket, splash of Pertwee colour, and the Cushing movie hair, i like it. And on closer inspection there might be more Pertwee than i thought, is that jacket all velvet, it just might be.
Very nice! I like it a lot. Nice call back to The Third Doctor without being too flashy or obvious about it.
"I hate good wizards in a fairy tale. They always turn out to be him!" Or how about. "No, I don't look magician. Magicians look Time Lord. We came first!"
