I like the broader worldbuilding. I've thought in the past that superhero movies fail to give much of a sense of that bigger universe where there are a lot of villains to be battled on an ongoing basis.

But I wasn't crazy about the shots of that battle with Electro in the power plant or whatever it was. They were too CGI-ish, too far removed from reality.

Actually I thought the CGI was kind of fantastic. It looked far more believable and naturalistic than we've ever seen before in a Spidey movie.

Although they definitely turned the color saturation level up to the breaking point with his costume, so that probably can't help but still make it look a bit cartoony.

It looked good in a lot of the shots, but in that particular slow-motion sequence where Spidey was swinging past those columns and Electro's bolts were destroying them, it just looked totally artificial. The energy effects looked nothing like real electric discharges, the columns looked like a video-game environment, and the whole thing was just too stylized and overdone.

Heck I thought some of the trailer looked like a video game trailer.

Yeah the electrical column dodging scene looked cheesy.

I have to disagree with this being the best CGI of the last four movie. Spider-man 2 looked great especially the train scene.

The trailer looks dare I say amazing and since the movie comes out next May I think it's alittle early to complain about how unrealistic the CGI looks.

    I would tend to agree.

Also, judging from other forums, the effects looking like a video game has become the consensus. The film isn't due out until May, so I hope those effects aren't final.

As for the trailer itself, I thought it was okay. To be honest, it didn't excite me, but it didn't make the film look bad, either. It does look better than The Amazing Spider-Man for what it is worth. I like the brighter color palatte, the new Spider-Man outfit, and the action looks fun.

Of course, as someone who didn't love the first movie, I'll probably be lukewarm about the film until I see it. So I guess I'll remain cautiously optimistic for the time being.

Looks good to me. I enjoyed the first ASM and this one looks even better.

That was fast. Here it is again (dubbed into German this time - maybe someone can find the English version again somewhere):

I saw the trailer in 3D before the Hobbit and it looked better than it did on TV, the effects were much better. And I noticed Doc. Oct's arms and what looked like the Vulture's wings.

For what it's worth, those subtitles are not German. Possibly Dutch?

Whoops, you're right. I gave the subtitles too much of a cursory glance. Yes, it is Dutch.

The international trailer is much better than the domestic trailer. Does a much better job at conveying the interpersonal dynamics of the film.

What an insane world we live in... the commercial is sponsored by another commercial. One that's three times as long as the main commercial.
