Good point. Still, it's peculiar how both this show (and HAVEN) always cite Boston when they need to reference a big city.

This struck me as particularly odd in the "Hansel & Gretel" episode in which Regina ordered the homeless children to be delivered to the foster care system--in Boston.

Come again? Maine doesn't have its own foster care system?

Yeah, I was torn between "Is she going to suck his life force out of him?" and "I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth."

But not necessarily that kind of history, I hope! :)

I think this is because Boston was New England's biggest city in the early colonial era. The time frame fits with the time in the land of magic.

I thought this was a MUCH better episode than last week's!

Agreed that the Rumpel/Cora kiss was kinda creepy but intriguing for what it implies about their history.

Also loved Rumpel kissing Belle. Very interesting that she smiled while he did so - when she was asleep - so maybe some part of her memory is still locked inside her?

Looking forward to the Rumpel/Emma road trip!

I thoroughly enjoyed the episode for a few reasons. For one, Rumpel seemed to have plenty of excellent lines, well-timed and entertaining. And I liked the realization that the characters from the other land were also from beyond the regular fairytales. It shows me a recognition on the writers' parts that they need to expand horizons.

Well, it's the Hub of the Universe-- maybe it's also the Hub of the Universes. :rommie:

I thought this was a great episode. I can always appreciate a B&W homage to the old Universals-- and it was very cool how Rumpy always showed up in color.

And I love the intricacies of Rumpy's character. He had every intention of killing Hook, but Charming's reference to Belle held him at bay. Then he tried breaking the curse by kissing her, but a short while later was threatening to kill everyone. By the same token, Regina is clearly reformed but still needs a personality makeover, given her reference to "the two idiots." :rommie:

And that was a really nice character moment between Ruby and Whale.

Looks like the FreakyLinks guy (and isn't it really time we got a FreakyLinks forum around here?) is up to something. I assumed the "Her" on his cell phone was a humorous nickname (along the lines of "She Who Must Be Obeyed"), but I can see that it may have a more sinister connotation.

Best quote for me was from Gerhard Frankenstein: "Well... It's too small to be a pony."

My reaction: "Must... not... make... My Little Pony... reference." :guffaw:

And all the jokes about the monster being Frankenstein was hilarious. :D

My Favorite was courtesy of Sheriff Emma Swann.

    Keep smiling Buddy.

    You're chained down,

    He's on his feet...

    Immortal...

    Has Magic...

    and YOU hurt his girl.

If I were going to pick dead guy of the year,

    I'd pick you.

I can't remember the exact quote, but the bit where Emma has to remind Snow and Charming that, in normal towns, the Sheriff doesn't usually bring her parents along on interrogations made me laugh.

Also, when somebody suggested that "Doc" (as in the dwarf) might be able to perform the surgery in Dr. Whale's place . . . .

So, now that Dr. Frankenstein and the werewolf are bonding, how long before Dracula or the Invisible Man shows up?

Why is the next episode Feb 10th? 3 week break when the show just came back on? Stupid....

Loved this episode, figured Regina would get back with her mom. Should be interesting to see what Cora and Regina do with Henry since Emma wont be there.

Think its pretty safe to say that Bae is Henrys father which would complete the circle. Which makes Rumple the grand father to Henry.

So it be Regina & Cora against Emma,Bae,& Rumple. Interesting.

The Invisible Man has already been on the show.

(Somebody was going to say it, might as well get it over with.)

    He's invisible!

This only shows you may take the student out of fifth grade, but you can't take the fifth grader out of the student!

But, I'm still ashamed of myself.:(

I suspect the Super Bowl is the reason for no OUAT on Feb 3. Not sure why not for next week, though

^^^ Pro Bowl. I dislike how they now put it before the Super Bowl. That change never made sense to me.
