I've always wondered, just before she sees Kirk in her quarters...why does Uhura grasp her stomach in pain?

Why not? Other victims of the "interphase insanity sickness" experience debilitating pain before they freak out. Maybe Uhura just took longer to get there.

Just watched this ep again the other night online. Always bothered me that Uhura doubled over in pain. It didn't make any sense because she didn't actually go crazy. She just thought she was after seeing the Captain floating around in her quarters. Hmmm, what would he have seen there if he'd been a minute or two earlier?
And later was she wearing her boots in sickbay while in bed in her sickbay gown? I'm glad that she rates her own short little outfit while in sickbay. Got to watch that ep again soon; or maybe "Changeling". She got stuck in sickbay then too. Pics anyone?

It was the disorientation of the space. Everyone that either saw Kirk or got infected like Chekov felt the same thing. McCoy almost fainted when Kirk appeared later on.

Lots of people wince in pain after watching one of Shatner's overblown performances.

Uhura was barefoot in Sick Bay in the same little hospital gown that she wore in "The Changeling" and that "Dr. Lester" wore in "Turnabout Intruder."

And the tell-tale '60's "bullet" bra.

Thanks. Great pic. The shot that I was refferring to was from the foot of the bed pointing at Uhura's face. You could just barely see the edge of the restraint, which looked like a boot cuff. Or it could be a continuity goof. I'm glad she's not wearing blue coveralls like the guys. Great legs as always.

Well, Uhura is just in two scenes in Sick Bay--Scene 99C (when she asks "Will, I become like Chekov, Doctor?") and Scene 110 (when Dr. McCoy cuts her loose because they all saw Captain Kirk).

In Scene 110, the shot is a little bit tighter and you see the low restraint around Uhura's shins. (I guess maybe it does look like a boot top if you don't really know how far down it goes.)

But if you hang on for about two frames more, you can just make out, very briefly, the bottom edge of the restraint, too.

So, no continuity error. Just viewer error. ;)

Uhh, but wasn't Nichols' pretty 'blessed?'

Are we sure that was a 'bullet bra' or au naturale?

Disclaimer: Joel was trying to put it in a non-...well...

Thanks. I couldn't freeze-frame since I was watching online. Plus my attention was diverted higher up. I just figured that Uhura had her boots on because she didn't want the guys to see her gnarly toes. Or she knew that Chekov had a foot fetish. In the other pic he seems to be staring right at them and reacting wildly.

I doubt they'd be standing at attention while she was flat on her back.

And don't forget that 1960's era women's underwear technology wasn't anywhere near as advanced as it is today. THANK GOD FOR VICTORIA'S SECRET!
