I use to love playing ARMADA. Eventually I would just do it to pass the time, but it was adictive. I would just build up my forces, and then sit back and let the other races duke it out...then, I would sweep in like the Borg, F everyone up then go back to my home world and just sit there and rebuild...

I go do this for hours..and at work!!!...what fun!

So how did you spend your time in the Armada universe???

Oh...and I was always the Federation...

The Klingons mostly, they had the cooler ships and weapons.

On Armada 2 I played the Cardassians on the skirmish levels (there where not any single player Cardassian missions, alas)

The Borg assimilating other people is fun especially with a transwarp portal.

Also I'm liking the fact that more and more NuBSG ships are being made soon I will use a fleet of Battlestars led by the Galactica to Frak my enemies up.

Sadly things like this happen when the people running the collective send more than one ship.

Armada was fantastic. Not the best designed game, it was buggy, and had stupid bumper-car physics, but great fun.

It was really easy to mod too - I spent ages on a Dominion War TC back in the day, but never finished off the Romulans. I've got it all backed up somewhere, so maybe one day...

Yeah..it was kind of simplistic. But for mindless fun, it was great. I loved the TIC TAC TOE map...

Perhaps...but I think had the BORG destroyed earth, or Picard had died at the end of BOBW, the show would have actually been better for it....IMO..

The Borg would not need to have destroyed Earth during BoBW.
Maybe assimilate it temporarily before the remainder of the Federation overwhelmed the Sol system and preventing the Borg from establishing the TW network access into AQ.

Actually, sending only one cube during BoBW events might be a logical thing because the Borg thought they already adapted to the Federation's best technological offerings upon their first encounter with the Etnerprise-D, and that they could be an easy target (which they showed to be for the most part).
Sending 1 ship in FC though ... lol, THAT was a big mistake, because the time frame between FC and BoBW was larger, which the Borg could have considered enough for the Federation to implement upgrades that would be enough for a smaller fleet to deal with 1 cube.

And even then, the Feds were effectively showed as idiots.
SF putting the Defiant on hold comes to mind for example because the Borg were not an imminent threat.
What the heck was that about?
The Borg present an ongoing threat and could have emerged anytime they wanted.
The writers messed up the Borg and SF.

One of the things I like to do as the Klingons or Romulans is to build several waves of three or more of the super weapon ships and launch them at enemy the starbase and the other stations and then while the enemy is confused in their burning stations attack with my fleet and totally crush them

I think those two weapons were the most powerful weapons in the game..Im just glad most folks like being the borg, which was bad enough...but yeat, I hated those things. And the fricking AI would use them, which sucked even more!!!

I liked the Federeation temporal stasis ability to freeze time.
Granted, I do think the time frame could have been slightly more extended, but still ... the Feds have some nice weapons in the game ...
Loved the chain pulsar weapon from the Akira class.

I never had a chance to try and use that temporal time freezer after a klingon fire wall was fired..does the time freezer negate it???

You know if you can capture it you can use it against your enemies.
