I wish I had one of these cool bookstores that sold things before the street date. I would check mine, but considering it takes them almost a month to get in current comic issues... One outstanding seems promising though!
Some stuff was left unexplained, and I gather the forum hates that. I'm willing to reserve judgment until I see where it goes though.
Read it in one marathon session today. No spoilers from me, but good stuff. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Question for David Mack: Does the Bashir situation at the end of the book get resolved in peacable kingdoms, or do we have to wait until next year for your section 31 book? Ceremony of Losses was excellent by the way.
Holy hell, what a ride.... Resolutions, I need them!! Mack, great work as usual. Can't wait to see where this is going. Only real issue I have is... Spoiler: A bit odd.... no mentioning of the re-opening of the wormhole, by anyone. This was a pretty big deal I'd say, so I would have though it would get some mentioning somewhere by someone.
I felt it was adequately covered in David R. George III's books; also, it was not directly relevant to my story, so I chose not to spend time on it. Yes. Even I won't disrespect that venerable tradition. I think Animal House might be the only non-Star Trek source I reference as often as the band Rush.
Oh, I certainly didn't mean it as part of the plot, more along the lines of Ro mentioning it or something like that. But really, that's the only thing I can think of right now that isn't a full out wow when in it comes this novel. And not just this novel. Sofar, The Fall has been giving me exactly what I would want from TrekLit. Good plots, great character development, progressing storyline that keeps on building. You guys and gal are doing a great job with this!!
Speaking of Rush, we need to get you into Toronto for a visit one of these years. For story research, of course. ;-)
For the people who have read it, is it worth brushing up on Paths of Disharmony before starting this? I find that I don't really remember many of the andorian characters from that book, other than Shar.
