Tuvok gave the Captain syphilis in Flashback. This is a fact. It's a living thinking syphilis that makes the carrier think they've accidentally killed some blonde girl until the guilt finally makes their brain explode after a bout of the crazies. If her syphilis flarrrrrrred up, maybe heading towards a terminal guilt spiral, that Kathryn suddenly blamed herself for Seven of Nines death then Janeway wouldn't be responsible for her actions AND SEVEN OF NINE MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN DEAD! There might have been nothing wrong with the Future she came from and we have no idea how much of it that was bad that we did see... Might have been all an illusional delusional fantasy. Anyone buy this?
See, too much practice with Holo-Chakotay. Gave her unrealistic expectations. But really I think in Guy's scenario Adm Janeway KILLED Chak because he took 7 away from her. Then as her brain disease took over she thought 7 was dead and this could be fixed by jigging the timeline when really 7 had gone into hiding because of Adm Janeway's obsession with her.
I thought she only gets one hallucination with the space syphilis? One great big fixated hallucination.. but maybe that one has spin offs where reality gets twisted in order to prop it up. So Tuvok could be in the nut house for the purposes of her believing 7 was dead since that meant she didn't have to listen to his logic when he tried to convince her that 7 was not dead. A neat way of debunking any reasoning that tried to argue with the hallucination.
Then maybe she hallucinated Chakotay's grave too. Or maybe it's some other dude's, like Billy-Bob Chakotay or something. And naturally the Doc and Barclay know something's wrong and that's why they sent Harry after her. Or maybe she hallucinated the entire episode and Neelix had actually found some deus ex machina on that asteroid he settled down on, which he told Voyager about, and they got home in five minutes that way. And Admiral Janeway's been crazy for the last 20 years. Whatever the explanation, it still works as a Brannon Braga mindscrew episode.
I read it as: "Endgame is justified if Kathryn is Sisyphus." All those years trying to push the same intrepid boulder of that huge galactic hill must have vexed her some.
What's the plural of Syphilis? Syphili or Syphilisis? Either her Syphilisis got along or they fought constantly for control and domination of Kathryn Janeway! Hey? When a mass of the Quicksilver life-form created itself in the image of Kathryn Janeway did a separate smaller mass of the Quicksilver life-form create itself in the image of her syphilis and entrench itself in Quicksilver Janeways mind and riddle it?
